Art Show to Benefit Brother Wolf Animal Rescue

Post Date: 09.01.2010

Enjoy some art, wine, and music with area artists while helping Brother Wolf Animal Rescue and the “Save a Life” Campaign. The exhibition “For Pets’ Sake!” is a celebration of the joy our companion animals bring into our lives. An opening reception will be held Friday, September 10, from 6:30–8:30 p.m. at BlackBird Frame and Art, 365 Merrimon Avenue in Asheville. The show will run through September 30.

The evening will feature a silent auction of valuable items and gift packages donated by Brother Wolf’s supporters. Also, artists represented by BlackBird plus several guest artists will present entertaining and inspirational works drawn from their own experiences with pets. The artists and BlackBird will donate to Brother Wolf 20% of the proceeds from the sale of these works.

Drew Findley, of Subject Matter Studio, one of the region’s most popular graphic designers, will make available for this occasion a signature screen print, a limited edition of 50 hand-pulled prints on archival paper, each signed and numbered and accompanied by a certificate for $30 toward framing. The full price of $75 for each package will be donated 100% to Brother Wolf.

Brother Wolf was formed in the fall of 2006 by a small group of volunteers, and they have been saving lives ever since. The group works closely with Buncombe County, and other animal res- cue groups, in the “Save a Life” Campaign, whose goal it is to end the euthanizing of healthy, adoptable companion animals in Buncombe County by 2012.
