Shop Talk: The Grapevine

Originally a country French antique shop, The Grapevine in Burnsville has evolved into a chic but comfortable fashion retail destination for locals and tourists. Owned by Joann Collins, the store’s mission is to make customers feel at ease.

“It’s always been my belief that a woman should feel comfortable and pleased with her appearance so that she can then relax and let go of any self-consciousness,” Joann says.

The Grapevine carries top brands such as NYDJ, Ethyl, and JAG; sportswear by Cut Loose, Habitat, Nomadic Traders, and Lulu-B; pants by Lisette L; and accessories by Baggallini, and John Michael Richardson Jewelry. The scarf selection is unsurpassed, and staff are happy to accessorize any outfit. Recently, home furnishings have been expanded.

The original owner, Nancy Byrd, opened the antique shop in 2001 and befriended Joann. Joann feels fortunate to have an eye for design that has carried on Nancy’s vision. Stop by the shop across from the Toe River Arts Council Gallery.

The Grapevine is located at 11 W. Main Street in Burnsville. For information, call 828.682.0030.
