Pack Square Park Hosts Organicfest 2010

Post Date: 09.01.2010

Asheville residents are staunch supporters of promoting healthy bodies and a healthy planet. In a celebration of all things green and organic, the 2010 Organicfest is scheduled September 11 from 10–6 P.M. in Pack Square Park.

Organicfest showcases an array of local, regional, and national businesses that promote healthy, organic foods, organic and green products, and sustainable business practices. Health-minded folks will find the finest organic edibles, refreshments, and great educational information from environmental organizations covering organic living, gardening, farming, and other earth care matters. Activities will include live music, dancing, organic food demos, drawings for organic goods and gift certificates, as well as the popular Organicfest Kids Garden.

Organicfest is a special environmental project of the Imagine Center, a local nonprofit dedicated to promoting organics through educational and fun events. The festival is cosponsored by Asheville Parks and Recreation along with local and regional environmentally-minded businesses.

The organic industry is one of the fastest growing, consumer-driven industries in the United States. This special event is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the pure, organic food and goods that are available in our community. It also helps create a connection to those who grow and supply these organic products. Visit Organicfest and find out why organic is good for people and the planet.
