The Laurel of Asheville is a lifestyle magazine focused on the arts, culture, and communities of Western North Carolina, and submitted events should fall within this context. If your event occurs over several days, please submit multiple events. Events extending beyond a four-day schedule will not be accepted. All submissions are subject to editorial approval and edits for clarity and style before being published online. Please allow up to 48 hours for your even to be posted. Join the Asheville Buncombe Food Policy Council for this FREE event ~ share food, celebrate together, help strategize food policy and advocacy for the coming year!
The purpose of the meeting is to bring together community members and stakeholders to celebrate 2017’s regional food movement successes, present our 2017 food policy agenda and action plan, and harness community expertise and creativity to initiate focus area work planning in the following areas:
Food Access & Distribution
Farms, Food Production, and Processing
Community Food Education
Resource Stewardship (water, compost, energy)
State Food Policy and Legislation
