Cello Concert by Christopher Hutton

The Friends of Music of St. John in the Wilderness in Flat Rock will present cellist Christopher Hutton in a concert of music written for solo cello on Sunday, March 26, at 4 p.m. The program consists of a suite comprised of single movements of the six solo sonatas of J. S. Bach and the Suite for Cello No. 1, Op. 72, of British composer Benjamin Britten. Originally from Wellington, New Zealand, Hutton is the cellist of the Poinsett Piano Trio and is Associate Professor of Violoncello at Furman University in Greenville. He has performed widely, including solo and chamber music recitals in his home country, his adopted home of the United States, and in Europe.
The concert is free to the public, but donations to Friends of Music will be gratefully accepted to defray the expense of the performance.
