Cooking Up Stories: A Storytelling Workshop for Everybody
May 20 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm$35 - $49
Can you remember a time when someone close to you shared a story that moved you, made you laugh, changed your mind or blew open your heart? How powerful and fun when an estranged cousin showed up at a family gathering – and she was the very one to save the burnt pot-roast dinner? Or a friend recalled a long ago camping trip memory that offered some healing in a time of grief. Or a business facilitator told just the right story to illuminate the moment.
Telling stories is as natural and vital as taking a breath! This workshop welcomes everyone: writers curious about the oral word, those who want to explore their personal experiences and those who simply love stories. As we focus our attention, we are refreshed by a wellspring of stories that enriches our lives – personally, professionally, artistically, and spiritually.
Fee: $49; Early registration fee: $35 (if paid in full by April 28th)
For the first 20 registrants, free admission to “Made From Scratch ~Serving Up Delicious Southern Stories” , a 7:00 pm storytelling performance that evening featuring Connie and Tryon teller, Dottie Jean Kirk.
