Making Mats that Matter

February 20 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Free

As we all know, plastic bags are terrible for the environment. They pollute our oceans and overwhelm our landfills. Instead of throwing them out, you can turn them into “plarn” (plastic yarn) and then crochet them into much-needed sleeping mats for the homeless! The mats are hygienic, water proof, and easily transportable, and they provide protection from the cold concrete. Join volunteers from Haywood Street Congregation’s “Making Mats that Matter” group to learn how. No experience necessary! To register, please email Pam at pam@purplecrayonavl.com.
