Malaprops Book Release & Ancestral Healing Talk

July 20 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Free

Everyone has loving and wise ancestors, and by reaching out for their support we access tremendous vitality for personal and family healing. In addition to supporting repairs with living family, our ancestors encourage healthy self-esteem and help us to clarify our destiny, relationships, and work in the world.

Join local author Daniel Foor for a spirited teaching and inclusive dialogue on ancestral healing. Our talk will also consider implications of ancestral work for cultural healing (e.g., sexism, racism, colonialism). Expect plenty of time for culturally mindful dialogue. This will be the first book release and signing for Ancestral Medicine: Rituals for Personal and Family Healing. Copies will be available at the event and are a great way to support Malaprops.

Daniel Foor, PhD, is a licensed psychotherapist and a doctor of psychology. He has led ancestral and family healing intensives throughout the United States since 2005, and has been blessed to live as a student of culture in the Czech Republic, Mexico, Ecuador, Egypt, Morocco, and Nigeria. Daniel is an initiate in the Ifá/Òrìṣà tradition of Yoruba-speaking West Africa and has trained with teachers of Mahayana Buddhism, Islamic Sufism, and different indigenous paths, including the older ways of his European ancestors. He lives in Asheville, NC. For more info on his offerings see: ancestralmedicine.org.
