McDowell Chamber of Commerce Spring Golf Classic
May 20 @ 7:30 am - 3:00 pm
With big prizes rolling in for the 2017 McDowell Chamber’s Spring Classic Golf Tournament, organizers are looking to expand the event to two flights making this one of the largest such events for the Marion Lake Club and great news for golfers!
2017 McDowell Chamber Spring Classic Golf Tournament Prize
The tournament, scheduled for Saturday, May 20th, is a four-person scramble format and has been touted by Marion Lake Club’s golf professional Greg Parker as one of the best run tournaments he’s had at the club. This year promises to be even better with Jim Cook Chevrolet giving players a chance to win a 2017 Chevrolet Equinox for sinking a hole-in-one on the par three 17 among other prizes.
In the works is a second brand new vehicle, a Subaru WRX supplied by Mike Brown Subaru, as a hole-in-one prize for the par three hole 4, doubling our players’ chances of literally “driving” the day! The Chamber is honored to bring in Vannoy Construction (the company building the new hospital) as the co-sponsor with Frontier Communications of the 50/50 Golf Ball Drop Raffle that gives players and spectators a chance to win up to $2500 in cash! The best part of the 50/50 is although it’s great fun to watch the hundreds of balls drop from the bucket, winners don’t have to be present to take home the cash.
The day is filled with fun, offering beautiful vistas on the Marion Lake Club’s recently revamped course right on Lake James. Countryside Barbeque serves up a delicious lunch and Pepsi Co. keeps players refreshed with drinks and snacks delivered to players on the course by smiling volunteers.
Make sure you register your team, whether you’re a professional or amateur, you won’t want to miss this tournament and a chance to win big! Prizes are also awarded for closest to the pin and longest drive.
