Seed Exchange Featuring Vandana Shiva
October 17 @ 4:00 pm - 7:30 pmFree
Join us in celebrating our local biodiversity and the important work of seed savers as we welcome Vandana Shiva, world-renowned seed activist, to our region. There will be seed trading, as well seed storytelling, seed saving workshops, and more! Dr. Vandana Shiva will be attending the early part of the seed exchange for a special program.
Seed saving is a culturally and ecologically important practice that requires much work and care. We want to honor the hard work of seed savers by being mindful and respectful of their craft. This is not an open seed giveaway. The event will be designed to allow for varying participation, including monetary donations in exchange for seeds as well as direct seed exchanges. More information to follow soon.
There will be space for folks who want to bring their own seeds to swap and share. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org to reserve a table for displaying your seeds. Volunteers needed!
Sponsored by Bountiful Cities, Sow True Seed, Slow Food Asheville, Organic Growers School, Southern Seed Exchange, Appalachian Institute for Mountain Studies, ABFPC Resilience Cluster, and Southern Seed Legacy, in partnership with UNCA.
