The Laurel of Asheville is a lifestyle magazine focused on the arts, culture, and communities of Western North Carolina, and submitted events should fall within this context. If your event occurs over several days, please submit multiple events. Events extending beyond a four-day schedule will not be accepted. All submissions are subject to editorial approval and edits for clarity and style before being published online. If you are going to include a photograph, please be certain that you have the rights to utilize that image. If there is a question about image rights, we may remove the image. The Carolina Mountain Woodturners and the Southern Highlands Craft Guild will sponsor a woodturning demonstration by Mike Sorge on Saturday, March 17 from 10AM-4PM at the Folk Art Center on the Blue Ridge Parkway in Asheville, NC. Interesting and creative pieces with a “geometric” flair will be the focus. The meeting and demonstration are open to the public and there is no charge. Everyone interested in wood turning is encouraged to attend. Demonstrations by well known and frequently “world class” turners are planned for the third Saturday of most months.
