All Things Spring: Junior League Market

Post Date: 04.01.2011

Celebrating all things spring, the Junior League of Asheville’s Spring Market Fundraiser offers a weekend of fun, food, and shopping April 29–May 1 at the Western North Carolina Agricultural Center’s Expo Building. More than 50 vendors will showcase the area’s most talented artisans.

There will be fashions for women and children, home décor, garden art, gifts for all occasions, crafts, jewelry, and plants. Market hours are Friday from 10–6 p.m., Saturday from 10–7 p.m., and Sunday from noon–6 p.m. Special events at the Market include the Best of the Best BBQ, Beer, and Bluegrass on Friday.

Bring the children on Saturday for fun with Miss Ladybug and her garden friends at the EveryBuggy Brunch where they’ll enjoy playing games, going on a hunt, bouncing on the inflatables, and listening to stories. Earth Fare will have a healthy buffet and ticketed adults receive complimentary champagne.

The Junior League has teamed up with Carolina Mountain Land Conservancy for a 1-mile fun run, 5K, and 8K in Fletcher Park on Sunday. Proceeds will help preserve valuable lands for parks and conservation.

Market tickets are $5 and include all three days. Best of the Best tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door. Brunch tickets are $20 for one adult and one child ($10 for each additional adult and $5 for each additional child). Race registration is $15 for the Fun Walk and free for children under 12 with an adult.

The 5K registration is $20 in advance, $25 at the race, 8K registration is $30 in advance and $35 on race day. Coupons for Market admission are available online at ashevillespringmarket.com.
