Arts2People Offers Holiday Market
Post Date: 12.01.2011
Anew program created by Arts2People is immediately making a splash this holiday season in Asheville. The Handcrafted Artisan Revitalization Program (HARP) has organized the Handcrafted Holiday Market, going on through December 24 on Biltmore Avenue next to The Orange Peel.
The mission of HARP is to create an economic development initiative using underutilized commercial development and incorporating regional creative professionals. The Handcrafted Holiday Market is a natural outgrowth of that mission.
The Market is open from 10–4 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and 10–4 p.m. Friday and Saturday. The Market will also extend hours to coincide with specific Orange Peel performances.
Gift-wrapping is available and ten percent of each purchase benefits Arts2People, which will ensure future vending opportunities for local artists.
Artists at the Market are members of the new HARP program. A basic membership to HARP is $25 that provides artists with a large list of benefits. Arts2People is a nonprofit social service organization devoted to promoting the role of the arts in the Asheville area.
Visit the Handcrafted Holiday Market this season at 91 Biltmore Avenue in Asheville. For more information, visit arts2people.org.
