Asheville Gallery of Art: Works by New Members on Display

Post Date: 01.01.2012

Asheville Gallery of Art is featuring works by new members Peggy Horne Taylor, Patricia Sweet-MacDonald, Carol Branton Morrow, and Pat Perkerson. An opening reception for the artists will be held on January 6 from 5–7:30 p.m., and the exhibition will be on display through January 31. Titled “New Year, New Beginnings,” the exhibit contains paintings done in a variety of media.

Peggy lived in Saudi Arabia for 30 years, so many of her works reflect a Middle East inspiration. She currently operates her studio and gallery, Willow Wisp Farm Studios, in Fairview.

Patricia was born in Florida and later moved to New Hampshire. It was there she began to capture on canvas the changing seasons of New England. She now enjoys being embraced by the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Carol has long had a passion for drawing and painting. After a 25-year career in advertising, she is enjoying the return to her first love of creating artwork.

Pat was born in what is now Zimbabwe, and has lived in England, Australia, and the Middle East. Now an Asheville resident, her work often reflects the people she meets and the cultures and environments she experiences when traveling.

Asheville Gallery of Art is located at 16 College Street in downtown Asheville. Gallery hours are Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m.–5 p.m. For more information, call 828.251-5796 or visit ashevillegallery-of-art.com.
