Hendersonville Apple Festival Adds Organic Market
Post Date: 09.01.2010
Now in its 64th year, the North Carolina Apple Festival, to be held this year September 3–6 in downtown Hendersonville, will showcase an organic market complete with a variety of organic and naturally grown products.
Hendersonville’s historic Seventh Avenue District will be lined with local, organic growers including Anthony Owens of Windy Ridge Farm and Lisa Black of Fields of Gold Farm, among others. Plenty of organically grown apples will be available along with a great selection of other fruits, vegetables, plants, and organic products.
Covering nine blocks of Main Street, the main part of the Apple Festival will offer four days of family fun with more than 150 vendors. Enjoy continuous entertainment, arts & crafts, local apple growers selling apple products, children’s activities, special shows, exhibits, open houses, festival food, and the King Apple Parade.
North Carolina is the seventh largest apple-producing state in the nation and Henderson County is the largest apple-producing county in North Carolina. What started out in 1938 as the county’s Centennial Celebration has become a crowd-pleasing, hometown celebration for the whole family.
