Hendersonville's Annual Green Home Tour
Post Date: 08.01.2010
A growing number of residents in the Hendersonville area are building smarter by decreasing the impact their homes have on the environment. To showcase these achievements, the Environmental and Conservation Organization (ECO) is presenting its third annual Green Home Tour August 21 from 10–4 p.m.
The tour will feature homes and businesses designed or retrofitted to implement sustainable practices that utilize local materials, conserve energy, ensure healthy air quality, and work in conjunction with the land. See how sustainable practices can be incorporated into innovative designs and high-style homes.
With numerous tax incentives offered by state and federal governments, it has become easier and more economic to be green. The tour hopes to further understanding of the “home as a system” working together to achieve a more comfortable and environmentally sustainable result.
Founded more than two decades ago, ECO has since been working within the community to educate and advocate for the protection of the land, our most precious resource.
Tour tickets are $15 per person, $25 for couples, or $13 for cars with three or more passengers. To purchase tickets, visit the ECO office at 121 Third Avenue West in Hendersonville or the Hendersonville or Asheville Visitor’s Centers. Tickets are also available online at eco-wnc.org.
