ACT Presents Two One-Night Shows Plus A Christmas Story

Post Date: 11.01.2010

Just in time for Thanksgiving, I Can’t Believe I Ate the Whole Thing—Glorious Tales of Gluttony, hosted by Tom Chalmers, will take place at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 18, in 35below. These stories can be called “an informal history of the world around us,” says Tom. This will be an evening of old-fashioned storytelling that will have you listening and laughing and then telling others of the time you did something similar.

Sure to heat up a cold November 20th night, Asheville Community Theatre is presenting Three Divas and a Piano. Michael Cheek, Beverly Todd, and Ruth Sieber-Johnson will provide some of the best cabaret music around. Join them for a night of music, song, and wine. This is a “one night only” event you won’t want to miss. Call now for tickets for this 7:30 p.m. performance.

Then, from December 2–12, everyone in the audience will know what nine-year-old Ralphie Parker wants for Christmas—an official Red Ryder Carbine-Action 200-Shot Range Model Air Rifle, complete with a compass in the stock.

It’s time for A Christmas Story when a seemingly impossible array of obstacles (“You’ll shoot your eye out!”) and people (including Santa Claus) stand between Ralphie and his dream of owning an air rifle.

The play is an adaptation by Philip Grecian from the story by Jean Shepherd, Leigh Brown, and Bob Clark. A Christmas Story performances will be Thursdays and Fridays at 7:30 p.m., and Saturdays and Sundays at 2:30 p.m.

For more information and for tickets, call Asheville Community Theatre at 828.254.1320 or visit their website at ashevilletheatre.org.
