Keowee Chamber Music Hosts September Concert Series

Flutist Kate Steinbeck directs her acclaimed company, Keowee Chamber Music, in a series of concerts this September entitled “Mothers of Invention: Music by Women.” Also in concert will be Kathleen Foster on cello and Daniel Weiser on piano. The program celebrates the music of French virtuoso pianist Louise Farrenc, contemporary Welsh composer Hilary Tann, contemporary Welsh composer, and Undine Smith Moore, one of America’s preeminent African-American composers of the 20th century.
The concerts will be:
Saturday, September 11—Dinner concert (dinner begins at 6 p.m. and music at 7 p.m.) at the White Horse Black Mountain, 105C Montreat Road in Black Mountain. To make reservations, visit whitehorseblackmountain.com or call 828.669.0816 .
Sunday, September 12—Concert beginning at 3 p.m. at the historic First Presbyterian Church, 40 Church Street in Asheville. General admission is $15 or 2 for $25, and students are admitted without charge.
Sunday, September 19—Concert beginning at 4 p.m. in the Swain County Center for the Arts, Swain County High School, 1415 Fontana Road in Bryson City. General admission is $10 or $20 for a family.
