Celebration Singers Present Singing Valentine’s & Roses

There are many ways to show someone you care this Valentine’s Day, and gifting chocolate, roses, and song are among the sweetest. On February 14, from noon to 4 p.m., The Celebration Singers of Asheville Community Youth Chorus will travel to homes and businesses in Asheville, Arden, Weaverville, and Fairview and offer singing valentines and roses to recipients. This program works like a singing telegram service. All proceeds will benefit the chorus, a nonprofit musical education and performance program.

The singers range in age from second grade through high school. Depending on the package order, singers will offer the recipients a sweet medley of love songs, roses, and/or chocolates. Roses are donated by Charm’s Floral of Asheville.

“This is our fourth year doing this fundraiser and we are so pleased with the genuine love it brings,” says Grace Avery, president of the Celebration Singers. “The group has serenaded a mayor, a judge, young lovers, nursing home communities, fathers, mothers, teachers, restaurants—you name it.”

Grace says, “Usually it is a surprise gift for someone, and often the recipient is in tears when these sweet children and their beautiful voices arrive on their doorstep bearing gorgeous roses. It really makes for a memorable Valentines Day while supporting this wonderful group and the arts.”

Orders are due by February 7. Package prices vary from $40–200. To place your order, contact Charm’s Floral of Asheville (charmsfloral.com) by calling 828.424.1463. For more information, visit singasheville.org.
