The Laurel of Asheville is a lifestyle magazine focused on the arts, culture, and communities of Western North Carolina, and submitted events should fall within this context. If your event occurs over several days, please submit multiple events. Events extending beyond a four-day schedule will not be accepted. All submissions are subject to editorial approval and edits for clarity and style before being published online. If you are going to include a photograph, please be certain that you have the rights to utilize that image. If there is a question about image rights, we may remove the image. Asheville GreenWorks Benefits of Trees Workshop

February 19 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

Nurture your knowledge of trees and the benefits they provide our communities. During this workshop we will discuss the economic, social, and environmental benefits of trees. We will delve into ecosystem services, public health consequences, and ways to mitigate costs associated with urban trees and forests. Presenters will be GreenWorks very own Community Forestry Coordinator, Gabby Fitts, and Urban Habitats Education Coordinator, Peter Menzies.
