The Laurel of Asheville is a lifestyle magazine focused on the arts, culture, and communities of Western North Carolina, and submitted events should fall within this context. If your event occurs over several days, please submit multiple events. Events extending beyond a four-day schedule will not be accepted. All submissions are subject to editorial approval and edits for clarity and style before being published online. If you are going to include a photograph, please be certain that you have the rights to utilize that image. If there is a question about image rights, we may remove the image. Please allow up to 48 hours for your even to be posted. If you encounter difficulties submitting an event, please email email@example.com.

Barbara Brown Taylor with “Holy Envy” – at Cathedral of All Souls

Barbara Brown Taylor, beloved spiritual teacher and New York Times bestselling author, specializes in helping us find the sacred in unexpected places. In Holy Envy: Finding God in the Faith of Others, she continues her spiritual journey, contemplating the many ways she encountered God while teaching a college course on the world’s religions to students in rural Georgia.
This event is free and open to the public. Please plan to arrive early for a seat. Additional details will be provided on the Malaprop’s website prior to the event.

If we exceed capacity (and for those who arrive by 6 pm), Barbara has graciously agreed to stay and sign your books. We will provide a voucher that will enable you to get into the signing line after the event is over. Please stay tuned for more details or call the store (828-254-6734) with any questions.
