The Laurel of Asheville is a lifestyle magazine focused on the arts, culture, and communities of Western North Carolina, and submitted events should fall within this context. If your event occurs over several days, please submit multiple events. Events extending beyond a four-day schedule will not be accepted. All submissions are subject to editorial approval and edits for clarity and style before being published online. If you are going to include a photograph, please be certain that you have the rights to utilize that image. If there is a question about image rights, we may remove the image. Children’s author Debra Frasier as the “Queen of Letters”

Join us for a fun, empoweing letter writing activity with Debra frasier, author and illustrator of A Fabulous Fair Alphabet and On the Day You Were Born. As the “Queen of Letters,” Frasier will help children and parents set their intentions for the coming year. Take a seat in her beautiful red tent. Choose your alphabet cards and unlock her Golden Box of Wisdom Words. Discover your Word-of-Power — the word that will help make YOU a stronger YOU in the coming year…(And prepare to meet her tiny but AMAZING dancing ALPHABETINI!) Frasier will lead a fun activity to help children and parents increase literacy, find their “word of power” and set intentions for the coming year. She will also sign copies of her wonderful books!
