Chinese Brush Painting Workshop
April 25 @ 9:00 am - 11:00 am$122
Chinese brush painting is one of the oldest continuous artistic traditions in the world. In this four-week course, veteran artist, Camille Daunno, will help you solidify and build on its basic techniques. In addition to practicing simple strokes, Camille will teach you how to make more complicated strokes and when and how to incorporate color into your paintings. Subjects will include flowers, trees, birds, and branches.
In the first class, Camille will review Chinese brush painting materials and basic techniques. You will have ample opportunity to practice using black ink, different values, and different brushes to create simple flowers and birds.
In the second class, you will focus on techniques to create flowers, trees, birds, and branches. Camille will show you how to paint a flower using very little stokes. Then, you will spend the rest of the class creating and experimenting with composition.
In the third class, Camille will teach you how to use color to enhance your composition. You will continue to practice using all of the techniques you have learned and pick a theme for your final piece.
In the fourth and final class, you will create a final painting(s) that makes a unique personal statement and a beautiful addition to your home!
