Commemorative 50th Anniversary of Stonewall Riots- Out Loud Proud

June 28 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm

$10 – $30

On June 28, 2019 the Asheville Gay Men’s Chorus will commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the Stonewall Riots with a concert of reflection and remembrance, equality and celebration.

June 28, 1969 marks a day in gay history that sparked the modern gay liberation movement. For five nights brave individuals rose up at the Stonewall Inn to demand LGBTQ equality. Now 50 years later we continue the fight for the rights of all LGBTQ people. Every age, race, class, sexuality and gender identity.

For over 20 years the Asheville Gay Men’s Chorus has shared our voices in Western North Carolina and beyond. We bring entertainment, advocacy and education through our musical selections. As a universal language music has the power to impact and unite communities.

Serving as ambassadors of the LGBTQ community we access a broad spectrum of society and play an important role in creating visibility by representing a broad and diverse group of individuals. It is our hope that by creating visibility we can eliminate fear, encourage understanding and acceptance.

Through music we are able to open minds to the human experience we all share.

We invite you to join us.
