Crimes and Missed Demeanings: A Comedy Fundraiser for Arms Around ASD

January 11 @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm

What happens when you bring together some of Asheville’s most acclaimed comedy writers and esteemed stage talent to create a comedy/variety show? You get, well… a great deal of potty humor. HOWEVER!!! If you let that potty steep for a bit, stir regularly, add a dozen distorted world-views, a gallon of unpasteurized love for The Carol Burnett Show, Monty Python’s Flying Circus, and Saturday Night Live (Seasons: 75-80,82-84), then add a pinch of spellcheck and a dash of Nietzche, and… viola! Crimes and Missed Demeanings.

For one weekend only, (January 11 – 13, 2019)
Crimes and Missed Demeanings brings a modern flavor to the sketch comedy formats of the “Golden Age of Television”. Each performance will have unique guest performers ranging from stand-up comics, to music, to burlesque. Featuring some of Asheville’s most accomplished and diverse stage actors, this totally ready for prime-time (but not quite suitable for children) show will leave you asking: Is this theatre, or is it theater?

Following last years wildly successful and critically acclaimed (and virtually sold-out) SuperHappy Telethon, The Magnetic once again sets out to prove; not only is laughter the best medicine, but in this case can help those on the autism spectrum and their families. Proceeds from ticket sales and sponsorship will be donated to Arms Around ASD (, a local NFP who provide services and therapies for people on the autism spectrum and their families regardless of age, ability or income.
