‘Festival of Peonies in Bloom’ in Clyde
May 4 @ 10:00 am - May 31 @ 4:00 pm
Wildcat Ridge Farm will open its riverside property in Clyde for the 2019 “Festival of Peonies in Bloom” between May 4 – 31. The farm will be open to the public during the peony blooming season, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., seven days a week.
The flower-loving public is invited to stroll among the peonies, paint en plein air or pack a picnic lunch and relax alongside the Pigeon River.
Wildcat Ridge Farm is a riverside haven, located on the edge of Clyde and Crabtree, just off I-40, and is owned by long-time Haywood county residents, chef Ricardo and Suzanne Fernandez.
“We feature the largest collection of peonies in the state of North Carolina, including both types of peonies — Herbaceous and Intersectional Itoh,” said chef Ricardo. “Come and select cut flowers for your home, office, or special events such as weddings — or a select a peony plant for your replanting in your garden at home this fall.”
In addition to the peonies, Wildcat Ridge Farm is the location of the Yin Yurt, a luxury yurt, available for rent on Airbnb. The fully-equipped yurt has a bedroom with king bed, living room with queen-size sleeper sofa, dining area, full kitchen with breakfast bar, full bath, wraparound deck with river view and garden fire-pit for enjoying sunsets.
“Those who want to spend a few days amongst the fragrant peony blooms should book a stay at Yin Yurt, perched above the peony beds and the Pigeon River,” Suzanne said.
