Glass-on-Glass Mosaic Workshop
April 24 @ 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm$140
In this fun—and very colorful!—three-week course, you’ll experiment with the unique effects that transparency, light, and color create with mosaic on glass. You’ll create a beautiful, framed, 8″x10″ transparent artwork that will convey the same beauty and qualities of stained glass, but with mosaic techniques.
You can either get creative and develop your own design, use one of the designs that Pam Robbins, your instructor, can provide, or search online for ideas.
In the first class, Pam will review what a mosaic is, the materials and tools needed to create one, and what to consider when designing and assembling a glass-on-glass piece. Then, you will spend the majority of the class working on your piece.
In the second class, you will continue working on your artwork. Pam will be available to answer questions, provide guidance, and troubleshoot as necessary. You will be encouraged to work on your piece at home so that you will be ready to grout by the third and final class.
In the third and final class, if you are finished assembling your piece, you will grout it. If you are not ready to grout, you will continue working on your piece, observe the grouting process, and take home a grouting kit so you can do it at home.
