The Laurel of Asheville is a lifestyle magazine focused on the arts, culture, and communities of Western North Carolina, and submitted events should fall within this context. If your event occurs over several days, please submit multiple events. Events extending beyond a month will not be accepted. All submissions are subject to editorial approval and edits for clarity and style before being published online. If you are going to include a photograph, please be certain that you have the rights to utilize that image. If there is a question about image rights, we may remove the image. Also, images should be no larger than 2000 pixels wide. Large images will prevent the event from being submitted. Please allow up to 5 days for your even to be posted. FreeThe Social Sangha is delighted to welcome Emily Horn to teach in-person, Sept 28th at 7pm, 1130 Montreat Rd.
Emily West Horn is a Certified Mindfulness Teacher via the International Mindfulness Teachers Association. She is also authorized to teach meditation by Spirit Rock Meditation Center and Insight Meditation Society. Emily has been called a “power player of the mindfulness movement” by Wired Magazine. Her work is featured in 10% Happier, Boston Children’s Hospital’s Comfort Ability Project, Buddhist Geeks, and apps such as Brightmind and Buddhify. She’s also been mentoring mindfulness teachers in a certification program led by Jack Kornfield, Ph.D and Tara Brach Ph.D for over 7 years.
Free to attend. A suggested donation of $15 helps support our valued teacher.
