Hoss Haley | Correction Line

August 28, 2019 @ 10:00 am - September 15, 2019 @ 5:00 pm

The Penland Gallery will present “Hoss Haley | Correction Line”, a solo exhibition of the well-regarded North Carolina sculptor in August – September 2019. Haley works primarily with steel, both in large-scale public works and in works intended for more intimate interior spaces. In his ongoing Erratic series, he has explored the tenuous and often ironic balance of man-made industrial forms and materials placed in the landscape. Taking a reductionist boulder form paired with rectilinear blocks, he presents the marriage as both balanced and precarious. For Correction Line, the artist intends to further the concept of balance, weight, and activation in his work – creating a provocative environment for the works within the exhibition space.
