Kathy Ramirez Presents Mind-FULL: Stories of a Reluctant Meditator, with MC Connie Regan-Blake
November 10 @ 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm$12 – $15
Come and share in the humor and heart that arises from the one-woman storytelling created and told by Kathy Ramirez, Mind-FULL: Stories of a Reluctant Meditator with MC Connie Regan-Blake. In this unique story Kathy explores her past need for any and all distractions and any excuse to keep moving, exercising or doing what was needed to simply stay busy. Yet in an effort to get out of her comfort zone, when a fellow colleague told her about a 10-day silent mediation retreat she attended, Kathy was intrigued. A few months later, while living in New Zealand, Kathy signed up for her first meditation course, with no talking, no electronics, no reading or writing materials permitted and, to her dismay, no exercise. What started out as a quest to complete a mind “boot camp” turned into a 7-year journey. Whether you meditate or not, this relatable story portrays the courage and capability we all have to pause and question the validity of our thoughts in order to create a healthier and happier view of ourselves and the world, even though we may encounter a little reluctance along the way.
Tickets for Mind-FULL are $12 online or $15 at the door. Tickets can be purchased online at https://ambrosewest.com. Parking is free and plentiful on the corner of Haywood Road and Swannanoa Avenue in West Asheville. Doors open at 4:30 p.m.
