The Comedy Show: Best of Atlanta Showcase

March 26 @ 8:00 pm - 10:30 pm

$20

The Comedy Show will see the historic YMI Cultural Center expand its program offerings to include a monthly night of gut-wrenching laughter featuring comedians of color. Presented in partnership with JAWBREAKING.xyz and Modelface Comedy & Events, The Comedy Show will be a night of comedy on the YMI’s main stage, featuring rising comedy stars from all over the country. March’s show will feature some of the best comics in Atlanta including:

Jasmine Waters – a writer, actor, and comedian in Atlanta that gets her kicks by making people uncomfortable. Jasmine performs and writes sketch comedy with Critical Crop Top, and can be seen peddling her humor across the Southeast.

Mateen Stewart – already a highly-regarded comic in the Los Angeles comedy scene and now he’s ready to take his message to the masses. Originally from Detroit, he attended Florida A&M University where he majored in Theatre. Mateen has appeared in several on-screen roles with the likes of Ben Stiller, Ken Marino, and Ron Hubel. He has been featured in a National McDonalds commercial and has also appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Last Week Tonight and HGTV. You can see him every Thursday at the World Famous Hollywood Laugh Factory and on the upcoming season of Comedy Dynamic’s “Coming to the Stage” and on “Brain Games” on Nat Geo starting Keegan Michael Key.

Angel Contreras – Originally from Houston, Texas, Angel Contreras is a public defender by day and an up and coming comedian by night. When she’s not in court, she’s performing all around Houston, Atlanta, and the southeast. Her comedy is inspired by her experiences as a public defender, her mexican heritage, and the trials and tribulations of being a millennial woman.
