The Laurel of Asheville‘s Community Events Calendar

If you would like to submit an event to appear in our online Community Events Calendar, please visit our submission page.

The Laurel of Asheville is a lifestyle magazine focused on the arts, culture, and communities of Western North Carolina, and submitted events should fall within this context. If your event occurs over several days, please submit multiple events. Events extending beyond a four-day schedule will not be accepted. All submissions are subject to editorial approval and edits for clarity and style before being published online. If you are going to include a photograph, please be certain that you have the rights to utilize that image. If there is a question about image rights, we may remove the image. Please allow up to 48 hours for your even to be posted. If you encounter difficulties submitting an event, please email gina@thelaurelofasheville.com.

Up/Rooted: A Southern Equality Studios Exhibition

Campaign for Southern Equality is excited to invite you to the opening reception for Up/Rooted–the culmination of this Summer’s Southern Equality Studios residencies. Artists Liz Williams and Al Murray along with artist-participants will discuss the work behind Up/Rooted and guests will have time to talk to the artists. The exhibition will feature photography, sculpture and digital works. Light refreshments provided

The exhibition will run August 23-September 3. If you can’t make it to the opening, contact Al (al@southernequality.org) or Liz (liz@southernequality.org) for a guided viewing by appointment.
