SUMMARY:Mike Wiley Productions presents “Changing Same”
DESCRIPTION:*Please note: All performances will take place at the YMI Cultural Center at 39 S. Market St. Downtown Asheville* \nOn July 8\, 1944\, Private Booker T. Spicely boarded a bus in downtown Durham but never made it back to camp. The driver reboarded the bus and continued his route. An all-White jury later acquitted him in 28 minutes. \nAward-winning playwright and performer Mike Wiley brings Spicely\, the driver\, and a chorus of witnesses back to life in this searing solo show — excavating a story that faded from public memory in a city known for its progressive views\, visionary Black entrepreneurs\, and institutes of higher learning. \nJoin Mike Wiley for a Q&A following each performance. \nGeneral Admission Adult Tickets: $35\nStudent Tickets: $15 (18 and under/ college and graduate students with student ID)\nWednesdays\, Thursdays\, Fridays\, Saturdays: 7:30pm ; Sundays: 2pm\n“Choose Your Price” Nights: Wednesdays & Thursdays (11/4-11/5 & 11/11-11/12)

SUMMARY:Exhibition on Screen | The Danish Collector: Delacroix to Gauguin
DESCRIPTION:For many years no-one was interested in the art of the Impressionists. Artists like Monet\, Degas and Renoir were vilified\, attacked\, and left penniless as a result. Then\, something remarkable happened. A new breed of collectors emerged and\, before long\, they were battling to acquire any work by these new\, radical artists that they could find. Amongst them was the visionary Danish businessman Wilhelm Hansen. It was an extraordinary moment in art history; full of drama\, intrigue and subterfuge. Some collectors we may recognize and some we may not\, but Hansen amassed a remarkable collection housed at his summer home\, Ordrupgaard\, on the outskirts of Copenhagen. Exhibition on Screen tells his fascinating story and\, with exclusive access to a sell- out exhibition at London’s Royal Academy\, brings the extraordinary collection to the big-screen in glorious high-definition. From Hansen’s beautiful house and gardens at Ordrupgaard to the streets of bohemian Paris\, this film takes you on a journey to discover some of the best examples of 19th-century French art ever collected.

SUMMARY:Information Lecture: A Path to Restoring Body\, Mind & Spirit
DESCRIPTION:Date: Sunday\, November 8\, 2026\nTime: 3:30–5:00 p.m.\nLocation: Hampton Inn Hendersonville\, 155 Sugarloaf Rd\, Hendersonville\, NC 28792 \nAdmission: Free \nThe extraordinary healings that occurred through Bruno Gröning (1906-1959) ushered in a new era of spiritual healing. \nBruno Groening brought a simple message: there is a higher power that is the basis of all living things. He showed how this power can be absorbed freely to transform and restore the body and soul. Back then and still today\, healings from decades-old chronic illnesses\, as well as from drug and other addictions\, have occurred worldwide. This is confirmed by numerous success reports that have been carefully examined by doctors of the Medical Scientific Group and documented using medical evidence by independent physicians. \nSince 1979\, the Bruno Groening Circle of Friends has continued to pass on his Teaching of living in harmony with natural and spiritual laws. Doctors\, psychologists and healing practitioners of the Medical Scientific Group regularly share their experiences through lectures\, both domestically and internationally\, in order to make Bruno Gröning’s knowledge accessible to all people everywhere. \nThe Bruno Groening Circle of Friends warmly invites you to this community lecture at the Hendersonville Hampton Inn.
