SUMMARY:Sister Act - Flat Rock Playhouse - 10/2-10/25
DESCRIPTION:When disco diva Deloris Van Cartier witnesses a crime\, she hides out in the last place anyone would look — a convent. Suddenly\, the sequins are swapped for habits\, and the nightclub turns into a nave. But when Deloris brings her unholy amount of soul to the choir loft\, heaven gets a whole new groove. \nSister Act is a holy-rolling\, soul-lifting celebration of sisterhood\, second chances\, and songs that raise the roof. As Deloris helps the sisters find their voices\, they just might change her heart in return. \nPart divine comedy\, part disco revival\, it’s proof that a little funk — and a lot of faith — can turn any sanctuary into a showstopper. \nEvent Times: 2:00 PM & 7:30 PM

SUMMARY:"Misery" at NC Stage
DESCRIPTION:Paul Sheldon has survived the crash — but he’s not sure that’s a good thing. \nRescued from a Colorado snowbank by his self-proclaimed number one fan\, the bestselling romance novelist finds himself bedridden and dependent on Annie Wilkes\, a devoted reader who offers to nurse Paul back to health. When Annie discovers that Paul has killed off her favorite character in his latest manuscript\, his situation goes from dire to something much worse. Based on Stephen King’s novel and adapted for the stage by William Goldman\, Misery is a white-knuckle battle of wills between a captive and his captor…and a darkly funny question about what we owe the people who love our work. \nRegular Adult Tickets: $27-$54 (depending on chosen seat) \nStudent Tickets: $15 (18 and under/ college and graduate students with student ID) \nWednesdays\, Thursdays\, Saturdays: 7:30pm ; Sundays: 2pm \nFirst Friday (10/16): 7:30pm ; last two Fridays (10/23 & 10/30): 2pm \nAdditional matinees on the last two Saturdays (10/24 & 10/31): 2pm \nOpening Week “Choose Your Price” Nights: October 14th – 16th

SUMMARY:BMC's Parker Concert Hall Season Opener with Stile Antico
DESCRIPTION:Join the Brevard Music Center for the vibrant opening of the 2026-27 Parker Concert Hall Series with Stile Antico\, one of the world’s most accomplished and innovative vocal ensembles. \nRenowned for their expressive performances of Renaissance polyphony\, its twelve members have thrilled audiences with their fresh\, imaginative\, and moving interpretations of this style of music. The term ‘stile antico’ (pronounced STEE-lay an-TEE-co) literally means ‘old style’. It was coined during the 17th century to describe the style of Renaissance sacred music epitomized by Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina. Just as no single voice predominates in this style\, Stile Antico’s collaborative working method allows all its members to contribute artistically in crafting its performances. \nThrough Stile Antico’s curated program Polyphonic Postcards\, listeners will be transported on a journey through 17th century Europe\, from Venice\, Seville\, and Rome\, to Paris\, Lisbon\, and Munich. These musical snapshots glimpse into the life and culture at the apogee of European Renaissance and concludes with American composer Christopher Cerrone’s It looks quite curious\, a piece set to a letter written by Walt Whitman and commissioned especially for this program. \nFor more information\, call 828.862.2105 or email boxoffice@brevardmusic.org.
