SUMMARY:Drumming Bird + BAERD
DESCRIPTION:Drumming Bird and BAERD’s co-headlining tour graces the Citizen Vinyl stage on Sunday\, October 6. 8 p.m. show\, 7 p.m. doors. $15 in advance / $18 at the door. \nDrumming Bird is the main vehicle of singer-songwriter Austin Sawyer. The 24-year-old has been writing and performing music as Drumming Bird for over 8 years\, meticulously crafting a sound that lies somewhere between the youthful noise of indie rock and the poignant working-class introspection of Americana. The growth of Drumming Bird’s burgeoning fanbase has been catalyzed by national TV placements\, including Showtime’s hit show\, Shameless. \n“American Spirits” was released on May 19th\, and reached a wide new audience with its timely and pointed lyricism. It has quickly established Sawyer as a songwriter’s songwriter\, earning praise from the likes of Katie Pruitt\, Manchester Orchestra\, and Lori Mckenna. \nBAERD is an indie-folk artist/producer hailing from Nashville\, TN. Often described as dynamic\, ethereal\, and contemplative\, BAERD’s music dives deeply into many relatable themes all with the hope of connecting the audience more deeply with themselves. Influenced by many great artists such as The Beatles\, Punch Brothers\, and The Carter Family. BAERD grabs the audience with his powerful voice\, intricate guitar playing\, and spellbinding lyrics sprouting from his drug filled teenage years into his mediation and introspective filled present\, BAERD aims to wrestle with the darkness in order to unearth the light.

SUMMARY:The Campfireball: Reverse Storytelling
DESCRIPTION:The Campfireball is a ‘reverse-storytelling’ show about the audience. Instead of asking folks to sit and passively watch a storyteller\, The Campfireball explores various ways of coaxing the people in the audience to share their stories with one another. At the intersection of intimacy and absurdity\, this unique 90 minute immersive experience encourages people to surprise themselves\, drop their guards\, and\, by the end\, to have told a brand new larger\, interwoven story of all of us in the room together. \nDeveloped over two years at the master’s in Storytelling program at East Tennessee State University\, The Campfireball has something to to connect with every kind of audience member. Participation is never mandatory\, it’s just as much fun to sit back and watch the stories unfold as it is to share\, after all\, what is a story without someone to listen? No two events are alike\, and none will ever be repeated. \nOctober 11th • 7pm \nTickets $15
