SUMMARY:Lyle Lovett and his Acoustic Group
DESCRIPTION:A singer\, composer and actor\, Lyle Lovett has broadened the definition of American music in a career that spans 14 albums. Coupled with his gift for storytelling\, the Texas-based musician fuses elements of country\, swing\, jazz\, folk\, gospel\, and blues in a convention-defying manner that breaks down barriers. \nWhether touring as a ‘Duo’ or with his ‘Acoustic Group’ or his ‘Large Band\,’ Lovett’s live performances show not only the breadth of this Texas legend’s deep talents\, but also the diversity of his influences\, making him one of the most compelling and captivating musicians in popular music. \nSince his self-titled debut in 1986\, Lyle Lovett has evolved into one of music’s most vibrant and iconic performers. Among his many accolades\, besides the four Grammy Awards\, he was given the Americana Music Association’s inaugural Trailblazer Award\, and was named Texas State Musician. \nHis works\, rich and eclectic\, are some of the most beloved of any artist working today.

SUMMARY:FELLOW PYNINS SUNDAYS ON THE RIVER IN OLIVETTE
DESCRIPTION:Fellow Pynins is an award winning contemporary transatlantic folk duo with a keen and bucolic sense of vocal harmony and song craft. The live performance is a whimsically emotional escapade through the chasms of our\, yes\, feelings. Dashed with spontaneous and clever banter\, mirth and woe\, you will probably cry and quite possibly laugh\, a lot. Wielding claw-hammer banjo\, Irish bouzouki\, mandolin\, and acoustic guitar the duo sings predominantly original music as well as reworked traditional ballads gathered from their travels. \n“Folk Music with a hefty touch of whimsy” – Bob Boilen (NPR)

SUMMARY:Hemlock Treatment Demonstration at Corneille Bryan Native Gardens
DESCRIPTION:The Hemlock Restoration Initiative (HRI) is hosting a demonstration of chemical treatment methods to control the invasive hemlock woolly adelgid (HWA) on Wednesday\, October 1st from 1pm to 4pm at the Corneille Bryan Native Gardens in Lake Junaluska\, NC. \nHemlock trees in western North Carolina are an important and irreplaceable component of our forests. These trees have been suffering for over two decades from hemlock woolly adelgid (HWA)\, an invasive insect that can kill the tree in as little as four years. \nHowever\, hemlock management is simpler and less expensive than ever before. This hands-off demonstration will be useful for landowners\, natural resource managers and tree care professionals. We will use the trees on-site to practice assessing hemlock health to determine the best treatment options\, and HRI staff will demonstrate the HWA chemical treatment methods used on national forest and state lands. These methods are available to all private landowners in North Carolina without obtaining a license or certification. We will also discuss applicator and environmental safety\, special considerations and guidance for hiring a tree care professional. \nThe backup weather date for this event will be October 8th. \nNC pesticide applicators can earn 3 credits for attending (categories G\, L\, N\, D\, and X)\, and ISA members can earn CEUs. \nRegistration is required. Please complete the form linked on our event webpage to register. Email Olivia Hall at education@savehemlocksnc.org or call 828-252-4783 with questions about the event.

SUMMARY:Modelface Comedy presents Greg Warren at Eulogy
DESCRIPTION:Modelface Comedy brings you the best comedians from all over the country. This weekend we have Greg Warren at Eulogy in Asheville!! \nGreg Warren is a beloved stand-up comedian known for his sharp\, relatable humor that resonates with everyday families across the country. Warren recently released his latest comedy special\, The Champ\, produced by Nate Bargatze\, now streaming on Nateland’s YouTube channel. The Champtakes audiences through a hilarious exploration of the dangers of poison ivy\, the rise of high school fishing teams\, and his own (somewhat questionable) claims to champion status. The New York Times praised The Champ\, noting: “His appealing\, all-American observational humor begins with such sound\, simple ideas\, executed with commitment. Produced by Nate Bargatze\, who shares his family-friendly\, slice-of-life style\, Warren takes on a big\, bland subject like poison ivy or Walgreens\, then sits with it\, attacking from a dizzying number of angles.” \nGreg’s previous special\, The Salesman — co-produced by Nate Bargatze and 800 Pound Gorilla Media — was hailed by The New York Times\, as “ [having] done for peanut butter what Jerry Seinfeld did for Pop-Tarts and Jim Gaffigan did for Hot Pockets.” The hour tells the story of Greg’s post-college years selling Jif and Pringles for Procter & Gamble\, a formative chapter that ultimately launched his career in stand-up comedy. He can be seen in his Amazon Prime Special\, Where The Field Corn Grows\, Fish Sandwich on Dry Bar Comedy\, Late Night with Seth Meyers\, The Late Late Show and Comedy Central Presents. Greg’s audience consists of a widely diverse spectrum\, having performed as a finalist on BET’s Coming to the Stage and on Country Music Television. He is a longtime favorite on the nationally syndicated Bob & Tom Show\, where he also contributes a recurring call-in segment known as The Warren Report. \nGreg’s material has been a daily staple on SiriusXM for over a decade and can now be heard regularly on the Pure Comedy channel (formerly Laugh USA)\, as well as Jeff & Larry’s Comedy Roundup. He’s guested on top podcasts including Nateland\, Never Not Funny\, Bertcast\, Dumb People Town\, The Adam Carolla Show\, and many more. He was selected as a New Face of Comedy at JFL\, has performed on Comedy Central’s Premium Blend and participated in NBC’s Last Comic Standing. Greg is also the co-host of The Consumers\, a podcast on Nate Bargatze’s Nateland network\, where he and fellow comedians Tim Convy & Sean O’Brien do a weekly deep dive into one national brand. \nGreg hails from St. Louis\, MO\, where his father was a high school wrestling coach\, and his mother made him play clarinet in the band. He has captivated audiences with anecdotes about the conflict inherent in meshing the two disparate high school identities of varsity wrestler and band geek. Greg was also a West Point Cadet\, where he distinguished himself by amassing an impressive tally of demerits and endless hours of pointless marching. After moving on to the University of Missouri\, he studied journalism and became an All-American college wrestler. Warren can be seen working out his new material on a brand new domestic tour throughout 2025. You can find tickets on GregWarrencomedy.com. \nages 18+\ndoors at 6:30\, show at 7pm \nTickets\nGA: $25 advance\, $30 day of\nPremium seating* $35 \n*premium seating is the front three rows and raised seating
