SUMMARY:Margaret Curtis: Mental Notes
DESCRIPTION:The works included in this exhibition span over a decade and focus on themes of climate change\, societal decay\, and apocalyptic dread. With distinct wit and craftsmanship\, Curtis addresses these universal threats from a deeply personal perspective. \nThe work\, Spot Fire and Flash Flood\, is informed by the Hermit’s Peak/Calf Canyon wildfire of 2022\, which significantly altered the landscape near her second home of Las Vegas\, New Mexico. Additionally\, three works from her series Burning Bridges addresses related themes of destruction by fire and flood following the impact of Hurricane Helene on Western North Carolina. \nAlso included are a series of monoprints entitled Earth Ear\, in these images\, Curtis invites us to consider whether an earth-based intelligence or consciousness exists. Rounding out the exhibition are several works from her Auriferous\, Emotional Cartographies and Weapons of War series\, which explore journalistic sensationalism\, political division and our Nation’s culture of violence. Lastly\, several of Curtis’ sketchbooks will be on display.

SUMMARY:Exhibition on Screen | Van Gogh: Poets & Lovers
DESCRIPTION:Two hundred years after its opening and a century after acquiring its first Van Gogh artworks\, the National Gallery\, London is hosting the United Kingdom’s biggest ever Van Gogh exhibition. Van Gogh is not only one of the most beloved artists of all time\, but perhaps the most misunderstood. \nThis film is a chance to reexamine and better understand this iconic artist. Focusing on his unique creative process\, “Van Gogh: Poets & Lovers” explores the artist’s years in the south of France\, where he revolutionized his style. Van Gogh became consumed with a passion for storytelling in his art\, turning the world around him into vibrant\, idealized spaces and symbolic characters. \nPoets and lovers filled his imagination; everything he did in the south of France served this new obsession. In part\, this is what caused his notorious breakdown\, but it didn’t hold back his creativity as he created masterpiece after masterpiece. Explore one of art history’s most pivotal periods in this once-in-a-century show. Made in close collaboration with the National Gallery.

SUMMARY:New Year’s Eve with ELECTRO LUST + Auspicious Golden Fish
DESCRIPTION:STANDING ROOM ONLY \nELECTRO LUST\nElectro Lust is a borderless sonic wavelength engineered for global dance floors. \nThe project blurs the line between electronic curation and live instrumentation\, blending electronic beats\, funk\, soul\, hip-hop\, and global dance grooves into a sound built for packed dance floors and late nights. This isn’t a heritage throwback—it’s a sophisticated\, sweat-soaked mixtape aesthetic designed for massive rooms and zero inhibition. \nThe music operates as an international passport\, effortlessly bouncing from a golden sunset on a tropical beach to the neon heat of a late-night club\, before dropping straight into the sweat of a packed underground warehouse. It’s a seamless\, heavyweight mixtape vibe calibrated to command festival fields and packed dance floors across time zones. \nNo filler. No boundaries. The groove is international. \nAUSPICIOUS GOLDEN FISH \nSwimming in an ocean of sound\, Auspicious Golden Fish weaves together searing guitar riffs\, hypnotic synth textures\, and deep funk grooves into a transcendent musical experience. Guitarist/producer Jamie Hendrickson (The Fritz/ElectroLust) assembles a revolving lineup of all-star musicians that bring his compositions to life. The result is a sonic journey—one that invites listeners to dissolve the ego\, embrace the present moment\, and dance into higher states of consciousness.

SUMMARY:Hans Williams
DESCRIPTION:STANDING ROOM ONLY \n** Hans Williams has partnered with PLUS1 so that $1 per ticket goes to supporting organizations working for equity\, access\, and dignity for all. www.plus1.org \nHANS WILLIAMS\nNew Orleans-based singer-songwriter Hans Williams makes soulful\, dreamy folk shaped by the people and places closest to him. His debut album\, Songs for the Neighbors\, was born in the backyard of his Bayou St. John home\, where late-night jams and intimate shows regularly spill over fences and through open windows. Recorded largely live at the house with his longtime band and producer Phin Choukas (Noah Kahan)\, the record blends folk with touches of soul\, funk\, psychedelia\, and country. At its heart\, Songs for the Neighbors is about connection with friends\, lovers\, family\, neighbors\, and those no longer here. Warm\, intimate\, and deeply human\, the album captures the feeling of people making music together and Williams’ belief that even the smallest act of reaching out can bring us closer. Now\, Williams is excited to bring Songs for the Neighbors out of the backyard and onto the stage. To play these songs live\, see familiar faces\, meet new ones\, and share the record with the people who have been listening along the way.

DESCRIPTION:– PARTIALLY SEATED SHOW (guaranteed seating and standing room only options are available at checkout) \n– “BAR ROOM SESSIONS” AND DOORS OPEN AT 7PM \nDJANGO JAZZ FEST \nDjango Jazz Fest\, hosted by Michael Joseph Harris and Hot Club of Baltimore\, brings a stellar lineup of top musicians to perform music inspired by legendary guitarist Django Reinhardt from the 1930’s and 40’s swing era in Paris. The legacy of Django Reinhardt has spawned a worldwide community of acoustic musicians who strive to play with the same level of virtuosity\, self-expression\, rhythmic complexity\, and harmonic sophistication. The style of music came to be known as Gypsy Jazz with its soulful\, deep grooving swing feel and unmistakable bluesy sound that characterized the era. Musicians from rock\, jazz\, bluegrass\, classical and folk genres have gravitated to the Gypsy jazz style because it demands great skill but in the spirit of fun and showmanship while including a vast repertoire spanning early swing music\, musette waltzes\, romantic classical music\, Latin\, Brazilian\, and many forms of folk music across Europe. The result is an extremely entertaining\, diverse and relatable music for listeners of all ages and a music which unites acoustic musicians from all genres in the common goal of reaching the top of their virtuosity as improvisers. The lifeline that runs through everything we do is about community and family as witnessed each year in France at Samois sur seine where musicians from all over the world gather every summer to play 24/7 at the campsite near where Django Reinhardt spent his final years. The aesthetic is about providing pure entertainment while maintaining a strong emotional connection to the music and bringing audiences into that feeling. The consummate Gypsy jazz artist strives for technical prowess as a musician through diligence and practice\, learning the repertoire of songs\, and developing a sophisticated harmonic palette for improvisation by playing with others and being inspired and challenged every day.
