SUMMARY:The Art of Wellbeing: Therapeutic Art Making in the Museum
DESCRIPTION:Art has the power to heal\, restore\, and reconnect us to what matters most. Join us at the Asheville Art Museum for a guided art-making session led by a registered art therapist\, designed to explore how art can be a tool to nurture your mental and emotional wellbeing. Whether you’re a seasoned artist or have never picked up a paintbrush\, come as you are and leave feeling refreshed. Join Alexis for sessions on August 15\, September 19\, and December 19. \nDr. C. Alexis Decosimo is a licensed mental health clinician\, registered art therapist\, and Doctor of Public Health. She specializes in helping children\, families\, and individuals access healing through blending therapeutic artmaking and evidence-based approaches including EMDR\, cognitive behavioral therapy\, and person-centered approaches.\nShe believes in meeting clients where they are\, drawing on creative modalities to open pathways to healing that talk therapy alone may not reach. Her clinical work is deeply informed by over a decade of international experience building mental health programs in some of the world’s most under-resourced settings\, giving her a grounded\, adaptive\, and culturally sensitive approach to care.\nIn her Asheville practice\, she brings that same commitment to accessible\, ethical\, and community-rooted mental health support to help clients process trauma\, build resilience\, and find their footing through the power of expressive therapy. SUMMARY:Patio Show: Sebastien Bordeaux
DESCRIPTION:– LIMITED PATIO SEATING IS FIRST COME FIRST SERVE\nSebastien Bordeaux \nEmerging working American roots musician. Sebastien Bordeaux plays traditional country\, cajun\, blues\, swing\, jazz\, latin\, hillbilly bop\, rockabilly\, surf\, honky-tonk\, manouche and Americana. He has mentored and toured as a bass player with American Legendary Song-Writer Wayne “the Train” Hancock.\nBordeaux released his first album under Wild Records in 2022. Several DIY singles. A live album in the beginning of 2026 featuring The Centuries out of Los Angeles. \nSebastien is currently about to release his 2nd studio album with Swelltune Records this fall of 2026! \nWith his punk rock upbringing and unsurpassed love and passion for traditional roots music\, Sebastien brings an edge and authenticity many are lacking in the modern age. \nSebastien has and continues to tour across North America\, Japan\, Mexico\, Europe and South America playing pubs\, city events\, theatres and festivals. \nSebastien’s music and bands consist of a-list musicians from Nashville and around the world. His music can be described as appropriate for a large group of avid dancers\, or beer drinking foot stompers. He intertwines elements of broody dark misfortune like in “Dig a Bone\,” to uplifting words of romance and world travel as in the words of “Machu Picchu.” \nA true authentic emerging roots music. One whom you will love in your playlists regardless of the type of music you’re passionate for. Sebastien Bordeaux is a timeless addition to the world of music.

Born in Forsyth County and raised in Statesville\, Reid began playing guitar at a young age\, developing a deep connection to the region’s historic finger-style traditions.\nHis musical education came directly from the source. He later helped form the roots band The Blue Rags\, known for energetic performances and traditional sounds. \nReid gained international recognition when he won the International Blues Challenge in Memphis—becoming the first solo performer to win the competition. \nToday\, Abe Reid continues to perform\, teach\, and share the music of the American South\, passing on knowledge learned from older musicians and decades on the road. \nThis is a Weekly Recurring Event\nRuns from Aug 17\, 2026 to Aug 31\, 2026 and happens every:\nMondays:	6:00pm – 8:00pm

DESCRIPTION:Modelface Comedy brings the best comedians from all over the country to Asheville\, NC. This week we are excited to have Jeremy Alder from Raleigh! \nChemist Spirts welcomes a group of Asheville top comedians for a night of laughs. Enjoy a stunning AVL sunset from the rooftop bar at Antidote while giggling and sipping a classic cocktail. \nJeremy Alder is a warm\, dry\, delightfully irreverent comedian with the vibe of a former church kid finally saying\, “Y’all aren’t ready for this conversation… but here we go.” Raised homeschooled in a deeply religious Texas family\, he now turns that world into quietly audacious\, deceptively sharp comedy—exploring faith\, doubt\, marriage\, parenting\, and growing up “Texas” with a calm\, precise delivery that draws audiences into conversations they didn’t expect but can’t stop laughing through. \nHeadlining nationwide\, Jeremy has built a growing platform to match his growing following: his Dry Bar Comedy special has earned over 7 million views\, he’s been featured on Nate Bargatze’s Nateland Presents\, and he’s in regular rotation on SiriusXM. His debut album\, Almost a Grown Man\, and his online series\, Christians Who Don’t Suck\, showcase the same probing humor that’s cemented his place as comedy’s favorite soft-spoken agent of chaos. If you like your comedy hilarious\, thoughtful\, and a little spicy\, Jeremy’s your guy. \nages 21+\nDoors at 7:30pm\, show at 8pm\nTickets $18
