SUMMARY:Margaret Curtis: Mental Notes
DESCRIPTION:The works included in this exhibition span over a decade and focus on themes of climate change\, societal decay\, and apocalyptic dread. With distinct wit and craftsmanship\, Curtis addresses these universal threats from a deeply personal perspective. \nThe work\, Spot Fire and Flash Flood\, is informed by the Hermit’s Peak/Calf Canyon wildfire of 2022\, which significantly altered the landscape near her second home of Las Vegas\, New Mexico. Additionally\, three works from her series Burning Bridges addresses related themes of destruction by fire and flood following the impact of Hurricane Helene on Western North Carolina. \nAlso included are a series of monoprints entitled Earth Ear\, in these images\, Curtis invites us to consider whether an earth-based intelligence or consciousness exists. Rounding out the exhibition are several works from her Auriferous\, Emotional Cartographies and Weapons of War series\, which explore journalistic sensationalism\, political division and our Nation’s culture of violence. Lastly\, several of Curtis’ sketchbooks will be on display.

SUMMARY:Call for Artists - Imposter Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:Calling all artists and crafty people! \nOur Imposter Exhibition is taking submissions! We are looking for art that is not quite what it seems. Maybe you’re really good at making thread look like paint or trash look like a whimsical collage. This show can be your time to shine! Cash prizes available! \nAll mediums are welcome\, you just can’t use them for their intended purpose\, or the final piece must mimic another medium. A “painting” made out of melted crayons? Great! A dress made from plastic cups? Fantastic! A sculpture of a raccoon made out of safety pins? Awesome! \nSubmission deadline is December 31\, 2026. \nThe exhibition will be on display from February 5 – February 20\, 2027\, with the Opening Ceremony happening Friday\, February 5th\, from 5pm – 8pm. \nArtists are allowed to submit up to 2 pieces. Submission fee is $20 per piece.

SUMMARY:Chris Botti
DESCRIPTION:Grammy-winning trumpeter Chris Botti has been one of the most popular instrumentalists in the world for nearly three decades; he’s collaborated with some of the biggest superstars on the planet\, including Sting\, Paul Simon\, Barbra Streisand\, Lady Gaga\, Tony Bennett\, Frank Sinatra\, Aretha Franklin\, Bette Midler\, Joni Mitchell\, Steven Tyler\, Andrea Bocelli\, Herbie Hancock\, Yo-Yo Ma\, and others; he’s topped the jazz charts with numerous albums\, earned multiple Gold and Platinum records\, performed with symphony orchestras and on prestigious stages from Carnegie Hall to the Hollywood Bowl to the Sydney Opera House. In short\, Chris Botti really needs no introduction. Yet with his Blue Note Records debut\, he’s offering one anyway. Vol.1 is in many ways a fresh start for the trumpeter. Having successfully crossed over from jazz renown to pop stardom\, Botti’s first album in more than a decade finds him crossing back\, with a small group project focused on acoustic jazz and classic standards.
