These courses highlight the unique magic of Warren Wilson College\, which has been a hub of experiential learning since its founding as the Asheville Farm School in 1894. \nAdults of all ages are encouraged to apply (18+). The majority of courses will take place on Warren Wilson’s campus\, and others will be Worldwide Courses that depart from Asheville but travel to various corners of the globe. \nTage Frid Stool\nTage Frid was a Danish-born woodworker\, educator and author. His design work was often in the Danish-modern style\, best known for his three legged stool.\nIn this week-long course\, working with ash or oak lumber\, we’ll learn a few advance techniques in woodworking\, including round wedged tenons\, angled dovetails and shaping wooden parts with a spokeshave. All three musicians have released music on their own\, Ashley’s albums under her name\, Jake’s albums under Splash Blade\, and Shane’s albums under Sham and Shane Justice McCord. Ashley Paul is an American multi-instrumentalist/ composer currently based in Asheville\, NC. Her intuitive process integrates free form song structures with a focused approach to sound. Since moving to Asheville\, Ashley has returned to performing solo using her unique set-up of saxophone\, prepared guitar\, voice and found objects. Jake Pugh performs and releases music as Splash Blade. Recent releases include Limit Breaker / Comet Lake (2024)\, Live from The Edge of Eternia (2023)\, and Memory:Link (2023). Shane Justice McCord is a human being living in Woodfin\, NC. Shane has been making music for 20 years intentionally (and 29 years accidentally). Tree of Heaven (2025) is the first release under birth name SHANE JUSTICE MCCORD\, however Shane has released music with Sham\, Ellicott Hooligan\, and other projects the last years. The three musicians performed as a trio for the first time at this year’s annual {Re}HAPPENING.

DESCRIPTION:Elizabeth Holden Gallery’s exhibition Catch & Release featuring the work of Jillian M. Browning will be on view at Warren Wilson College from August 18th to October 3rd\, 2025. Warren Wilson’s Art & Craft Department is excited to host an exhibition featuring larger than life cyanotypes and installations by interdisciplinary artist\, Jillian Marie Browning.  \nJillian Marie Browning (she/they) is an interdisciplinary artist pursuing themes of feminism\, identity\, and the contemporary black experience. Born in Ocala\, Florida they received a Bachelor of Science degree in Photography from the University of Central Florida in 2012 and a Master of Fine Arts degree in Studio Art from Florida State University in 2015. They have had their work shown nationally as well as been included in the permanent collection of the Center for Photography at Woodstock\, The Southeast Museum of Photography\, and the University of Maryland’s David C. Driskell Center For The Study of Visual Arts and Culture Of African Americans and the African Diaspora. They currently serve as Assistant Professor of Photography at The University of Alabama at Birmingham.  \nThe exhibition closing reception is on October 3rd  from 3:00-5:00 PM.  The Elizabeth Holden Gallery is open M-F\, 10-4pm and most Saturdays 1-4pm.

This meditative freeform dancing practice was created by dancer and visionary Gabriellle Roth.
