SUMMARY:Ethan Regan: Young Regan Tour
DESCRIPTION:The Grey Eagle and Worthwhile Sounds Present \nEthan Regan: Young Regan Tour \nAll Ages\nStanding Room Only \nETHAN REGAN\nEthan Regan is just the troubadour Gen Z needs. He’s had a fair share of significant viral moments\, but he’s also an accomplished and energetic showman on stage\, giving performances I.R.L. that leave a lasting mark. As a songwriter\, he’s both intensely introspective and sharply self-aware\, espousing the importance of self-care with sensitivity.. In this respect\, he makes timeless music with a modern mindset. Beyond playing instruments and singing\, this Charlotte native with a restless\, road-worn spirit personally grabs the reins and produces\, mixes\, and masters his own songs. He has tallied nearly 100 million streams\, received critical acclaim\, and captivated sold-out rooms as a proven headliner. Creatively\, he doesn’t follow a formula. You’re just as likely to encounter a breezy chord progression in one of his tunes as you are to hear a rowdy and boisterous horn section or big screen-size \nstrings. Hitting the road\, he shined on bills with Sam Barber and Rainbow Kitten Surprise as well as Chelsea Cutler and Jeremy Zucker. Ethan’s self-produced 2025 EP\, honey honey honey\, saw him gain further traction with “get by” and “spaceman.” In the EP’s wake\, he canvased the country\, headlining his “I Almost Graduated” Tour and releasing the likes of “fool” and “sweet hunger.” Looking forward\, his artistry remains an unapologetic and unfiltered reflection of who he is. You’ll feel like you know him a little better on a series of 2026 singles for Columbia Records and his forthcoming debut album\, “YOUNG REGAN.” \nLILY KERSHAW\nThe strongest tool Lily Kershaw wields is her voice\, both in the simmering ferocity it carries and the poetry it speaks. For sophomore album Arcadia\, she is ultimately telling a story of acceptance\, both of herself and the great mystery that is the universe. Together with producer Ben Cooper (Radical Face)\, Lily takes her classic folk-tinged songs and weaves warmer analog sounds like organ\, harpsichord and guitar with cinematic force\, creating her most intimate release to date. In song and spirit\, Lily is an old soul\, but upon initial meeting she’s kinetic\, ebullient\, lively\, and kind\, quick with a joke and an infectious smile. Lily is a compulsive creator\, she jots down melodies and lyrics as she’s wandering through her days.

SUMMARY:Dana and Alden: Papa’s Boat Tour
DESCRIPTION:The Grey Eagle and Worthwhile Sounds Present \nDana and Alden: Papa’s Boat Tour \nJazz duo Dana & Alden have always had a wanderlust\, something they credit to their maternal grandfather. Affectionately known as Papa\, he was the kind of person others naturally gravitate towards. It was a photograph from one of his trips to Asia that inspired the Eugene\, OR duo’s new album Papa’s Boat. In the image Papa is looking out across the horizon and stood next to his boat Sŵn y Môr (Welsh for “Sound of the Sea.”) \n“I think so much of what Alden and I are doing comes from just watching him live his own unique life\,” says Dana. Alden agrees. “His emboldened\, passionate personality gave us permission to be our own selves\, to be unconventional and draw outside of the box.”\nRecorded with Malcolm Catto in London in March 2025\, Papa’s Boat combines all their childhood love and global experience to create an ecstatic sound built on Dana’s saxophone and Alden’s drums. Recorded with the duo’s backing band\, Ebba Dankel (vocals and keys)\, Andrew Mitchell (bass)\, Eli Torgersen (vocals and guitar) and Salim Charvet (sax and synths)\, Papa’s Boat is rooted in jazz but pulling influence from indie\, pop\, rap\, bossa nova\, and beyond. A hypnotic combination of sax and buzzing synths on “Lighthouse” sets the tone for an album that uses water as both a reflective surface and a body to get lost in. Elsewhere there are collaborations with Mei Semones\, Melanie Charles\, and legendary Brazilian songwriter Marcos Valle\, a hero figure to the band who appears on “El Gaucho” and “Friendship Is A Boat.” \nThroughout its runtime Papa’s Boat sails purposefully between memories of the past and visions of a brighter future. It doesn’t just commemorate their Papa as a beloved character\, but shares him with the world.

SUMMARY:APLR Presents: Min Xiao-Fen & Julian Kytasty - Boundless
DESCRIPTION:APLR Presents: Min Xiao-Fen & Julian Kytasty – Boundless \nThursday\, November 5th\, 2026 \nAyurPrana Listening Room – 312 Haywood Rd\, Asheville\, NC 28806 \nDoors 6PM || Show 7PM \nMin Xiao-Fen & Julian Kytasty: Boundless \n“Boundless\, a groundbreaking collaboration between two visionary artists: Chinese pipa soloist and composer Min Xiao-Fen and Ukrainian bandurist and composer Julian Kytasty. Both classically trained and shaped by their work with avant-garde icon Derek Bailey\, Min and Kytasty bridge centuries-old traditions with bold contemporary expression. \nMin’s work\, “Xi Xi\, Cuo Cuo (Wash and Rub)\,” draws inspiration from the overlooked history of Chinese immigrants in the Mississippi Delta. “They lived there for over a century\,” she explains. “In the segregated South\, they ran grocery stores and laundries that served both Black and white communities. My music reflects how they quietly bridged a divided world.” \nKytasty’s “Travel Music” features a rare bandura with a remarkable past. “It was crafted by Iosyp Shizhny\, a pioneering performer who fled the USSR via Manchuria and settled in Shanghai\,” Julian says. “He escaped China in 1948 and brought the instrument to Buenos Aires. I discovered it in 1987\, brought it to New York – and it’s still going strong. I can’t wait to play it with Min.” \nFor Min\, the performance also echoes a poignant memory: performing in Kyiv in 1988 as part of a Chinese cultural exchange. “Through this music\, we continue that spirit of connection—and send a prayer for peace in Ukraine and around the world.” \nBoundless is more than a title – it’s a journey across time\, borders\, and imagination. Don’t miss this unforgettable evening of fearless collaboration and transcendent sound. \nAll-ages

SUMMARY:The Art of Presence: Meditation and Reflection in the Museum
DESCRIPTION:Step into the Museum’s galleries before the doors open for a quiet and contemplative morning of meditation\, mindful walking\, and reflection. This guided experience invites participants to slow down\, settle the nervous system\, and explore the Museum as a place of sanctuary\, spaciousness\, and renewal. \nThe session will begin with a brief seated meditation\, followed by a walking meditation through selected exhibits. Along the way\, participants will pause with gentle mindfulness prompts designed to support personal reflection\, embodied awareness\, and a deeper connection with the artwork. Rather than offering art historical interpretation\, the experience encourages each participant to notice what arises within them through presence\, stillness\, and mindful seeing. The group will honor noble silence throughout much of the session with occasional opportunities for brief reflection and sharing. No previous meditation experience is needed. \nJoin Joshua on 8/22\, 10/3\, 11/7\, and 12/5. \nJoshua Canter is a mindfulness meditation teacher and the founder of True Nature Travels and Education\, an Asheville-based organization that has offered transformative retreats and educational experiences around the world for more than 20 years. He holds a master’s degree in Contemplative Psychology and is passionate about making mindfulness accessible\, grounded\, and relevant to everyday life.

SUMMARY:Exhibition on Screen | The Danish Collector: Delacroix to Gauguin
DESCRIPTION:For many years no-one was interested in the art of the Impressionists. Artists like Monet\, Degas and Renoir were vilified\, attacked\, and left penniless as a result. Then\, something remarkable happened. A new breed of collectors emerged and\, before long\, they were battling to acquire any work by these new\, radical artists that they could find. Amongst them was the visionary Danish businessman Wilhelm Hansen. It was an extraordinary moment in art history; full of drama\, intrigue and subterfuge. Some collectors we may recognize and some we may not\, but Hansen amassed a remarkable collection housed at his summer home\, Ordrupgaard\, on the outskirts of Copenhagen. Exhibition on Screen tells his fascinating story and\, with exclusive access to a sell- out exhibition at London’s Royal Academy\, brings the extraordinary collection to the big-screen in glorious high-definition. From Hansen’s beautiful house and gardens at Ordrupgaard to the streets of bohemian Paris\, this film takes you on a journey to discover some of the best examples of 19th-century French art ever collected.

SUMMARY:Rumpelstiltskin - Playhouse Jr. - 11/12-11/15
DESCRIPTION:\nA world premiere musical spun from the Grimm Brothers’ classic — a tale of gold\, grit\, and a touch of magic\, set to a captivating score that fuses folk\, rap\, and percussion. \nThe kingdom is in crisis\, the villagers are hungry\, and their future rests in the hands of a poor miller’s daughter. Her only hope is a daring bargain with a mysterious stranger — one that tests the worth of a name\, the power of trust\, and the courage to spark change. \nThis new musical explores the cost of greed and the grace of kindness\, reminding us that what truly matters can’t be measured in gold. \nBe the first to experience a brand-new American musical by Ben Mackel\, developed through the Playhouse Jr. Licensing New Works Initiative. Created entirely under our roof\, this world premiere offers new theatre for all — big and small — continuing a bright new chapter of storytelling from the Playhouse’s stage to the world’s. \nEvent Times:\n11/12 – 7pm\, 11/13 – 7pm\, 11/14 – 2pm & 6pm \, 11/15 – 2pm

SUMMARY:The Art of Yoga | Summer-Fall Series 2026
DESCRIPTION:Join us at the Museum for a harmonious blend of artistic inspiration and mindful movement! Our Saturday sessions are from 9:30–11am.  Experience how close looking at art and practicing yoga in the beautiful spaces of the Museum can foster relaxation and connection. \nEach yoga session includes a guided mindful looking session in one of the Museum’s current exhibitions. After class\, you’re invited to the John & Robyn Horn Education Center (level 3) for a complimentary cup of tea and artful conversation. \nAll levels are welcome. Please bring your own yoga mat.
