DESCRIPTION:Join UNC Asheville for a special screening of Gunfighter Paradise\, followed by a Q&A with writer and director Jethro Waters ’13. \nSet in North Carolina\, Gunfighter Paradise is a darkly comedic and surreal exploration of the American South\, following a hunter who returns home after the death of his mother and finds himself confronting mysterious visitors\, unsettling visions and a rapidly unraveling reality. Written and directed by UNC Asheville alumnus Jethro Waters\, the independent feature blends dark comedy\, horror and Southern surrealism. Rotten Tomatoes\nFollowing the film\, Waters will join the audience for a conversation and Q&A about the film and his work as an independent filmmaker. \nThe screening will take place Thursday\, October 23 at 7 p.m. in the Blue Ridge Room of UNC Asheville’s Highsmith Student Union. The event is co-hosted by the UNC Asheville Alumni Association and Department of Mass Communication and is open to alumni\, students\, faculty\, staff and members of the greater Asheville community. \nFree and open to the public.
