She studied playwriting at UCLA and still holds a deep love for theater\, even as her creative work has expanded into comedy and live performance. She is the creator and producer of Blind Date Live\, a chaotic comedic dating show hosted at The Orange Peel. Alongside her partner Ryan Gordon\, she also co-produces stand-up comedy shows around Asheville\, including On The Fly\, a crowd work-only show\, and several monthly showcases. Together\, they run the sketch comedy Instagram page @blinddateliveavl\, where they post characters\, satirical restaurant reviews\, and general nonsense. When not producing shows or writing\, Cayla is usually nesting—she and Ryan are expecting their first child in late July.
