This week we are excited to have Corey Ryan Forrester!! \nCorey’s love for comedy started when he was a toddler watching Carson (and then Leno) from a blanket on the floor next to his daddy\, Dale. By the second grade\, Corey had already informed his teachers that he would be a comedian and didn’t ever consider another profession. At 16\, he worked up the nerve to do his first open mic (lying about his age to be admitted into the club). \nCorey spent the next decade hawking jokes in dingy bars and comedy clubs at night\, then waking up to do random jobs to supplement his income. He was a house painter\, retail associate\, motorcycle salesman\, urine sample collector\, flower delivery boy\, hotel maid\, college textbook reseller\, and hay bailer… at one point\, he ran a family bakery with his mother and sister where he was considered the “Head Quiche Chef.” \nIn 2015 Corey traded in his chef’s hat for a full-time trucker hat. Under Corey’s trucker hat is a giant head\, and under that are surprisingly thought-provoking rants on society\, culture\, and politics. His stand-up blends humor and common sense into a high-energy act full of silly physical comedy\, recounting wild stories and emotionally-driven tangents. \nCorey dreams of being in the small club of EGOT winners. His creative output is nearly insatiable and propelled by his passion for writing\, performance\, and silliness. Choosing to live in his hometown of Chickamauga\, when Corey isn’t on the road touring internationally as part of the wellRED Comedy Tour\, he takes hours-long walks through the woods\, talks on the phone with his momma\, and makes live videos to destigmatize mental health. \nYou can find daily videos and writing across Corey’s platforms. They offer authentic comedy to everyone\, regardless of if they’ve worked in education\, need a break from reality\, or just love to laugh. The Unteachables have been featured on NBC\, The Breakfast Club\, The New York Post\, and the Roast Battle League. \nStephen Taylor \nOriginally a Louisiana native\, Stephen moved to Kansas City to escape his traditional southern roots. This weekend we have Sean Patton at AyurPrana Listening Room in West Asheville!! \nSean Patton is a comedian based in New York\, by way of New Orleans. He began doing stand-up in the Crescent City and has since performed in comedy clubs and festivals across the world\, including The Melbourne International Comedy Festival\, The Glasgow Comedy fest\, the Dublin Comedy fest\, and The Edinburgh Fringe. Other festivals appearances include SXSW\, The Moontower comedy festival\, Just for Laughs Chicago\, Just for Laughs Toronto and Just for Laughs Montreal. He’s performed on Comedy Central’s Live at Gotham\, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon\, Conan\, and Comedy Central’s The Half Hour. More recently\, He’s been on @midnight \, The Meltdown with Jonah and Kumail\, This Is Not Happening\, Showtime’s Live from SXSW\, TruTv’s Comedy Knockout\, and This week at the Comedy Cellar. \nIn 2019 he released his second album Scuttlebutt on Helium Records. His next album King Scorpio was released on Christmas Eve 2021 and as a special on Youtube in August 2022. His special Number One is currently streaming on peacock. \nAs for acting\, He’s appeared on IFC’S Maron\, Comedy Central’s Inside Amy Schumer and TruTV’s Those who can’t. As of September 2024 He stars alongside Brian Jordan Alvarez\, Stephanie Koenig\, Enrico Colantoni\, and Carmen Christopher in FX’s English Teacher \n“I’ve seen him perform more than a dozen sets\, and he’s killed every time.
