Born in the high desert of Roswell\, New Mexico\, his earliest memories are steeped in the sounds of Spanish folk\, cowboy ballads\, and classic country—music that echoed under wide-open skies\, thunderstorms you could see miles away\, and sun-drenched plains. He later moved to Burnsville\, North Carolina\, where Appalachian gospel\, bluegrass\, and Scots-Irish folk music left their mark. He later moved to Indianapolis\, Indiana\, where he was surrounded by heartland rock\, chicago blues and rust-belt emo\, which began to shape his own songwriting voice. \nNow settled back in Asheville\, Ross Hollow finds inspiration in fog-draped mornings\, rhododendron thickets\, the quiet of mountain trails\, and the wild animals all around. Recent work leans into a more organic\, acoustic sound\, rich with finger picked guitar\, warm harmonies\, and collaborations with guest vocalists and string players that evoke the natural beauty in Southern Appalachia

In 2012\, he moved to New York City\, which quickly led to appearances on The Late Late Show and John Oliver’s New York Stand-Up Show\, and his resume has since grown to include The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon\, Conan on TBS\, Last Comic Standing\, his own Comedy Central Half Hour. \nJoe’s first solo album Smiling at Wolves reached number two on iTunes\, and Paste Magazine named him one of 10 best comedians from the south. His second album\, Innocence\, is played regularly on Sirius XM radio\, and in 2019 he recorded a Dry Bar special with 1.5 million views on YouTube. \nHis first one-hour special\, Cult Classic\, came out on Hulu in 2023. But as he enters his 25th year as a recording artist\, it’s clear these are\, at the least\, very good days for Jurado on the creative front. In these 12 songs\, which evoke half-recalled dreams and overheard conversations\, the cosmic rushes headlong into the autobiographical and specific moments on the clock fade from past to future to scenes set only in the eternal now. Playing out like a backlot documentary filmed on the location of an unnamed TV or film set—maybe a sitcom taping\, or perhaps it’s a low budget science fiction B-movie\, or could it be a talk show?—the album is populated by performers awaiting call times\, camera operators praying for their shot\, and studio audiences rapt with anticipation. The stars here eschew glitz and glamor. Instead\, they wander grocery stores and parking lots in the verdant Pacific Northwest and the desert Southwest\, looking for payphones and a sense of purpose. Produced by Jurado with multi-instrumentalist Josh Gordon and recording engineer Alex Bush at Sonikwire studio in Irvine\,CA\, Jurado’s home away from home and musical headquarters\, the record’s compositions are among the most musically rich in his vast discography\, encompassing romantic AM gold\, ‘60s psychedelia\, driving rock & roll\, Latin shuffles\, and left of the dial ambiance. Strings swell\, melodic bass bubbles\, and piano sparkles\, undergirding Jurado’s unmistakable voice\, at once intimately present and ghostly\, grounded in the here and now but capable\, at any moment\, of drifting off into the divinatory. Following threads established by 2021’s The Monster Who Hated Pennsylvania\, the album sees Jurado embracing his auteur era\, penning vignettes that arrive with little fanfare and depart quicker than you might suspect\, only to linger long after they wrap. Seeking a skeleton key to decipher the action is beside the point—Jurado’s songs are worlds meant to be lived in\, not picked apart—but on the beatific single “What Happened To The Class Of ‘65?” the singer imagines himself as both the viewer and the viewed\, the eye behind the camera and its subject. They honed their grassroots following by busking on the streets of Europe and playing at local farmers’ markets before eventually relocating to the countryside just north of the San Francisco Bay Area. \nKnown to describe themselves as “a gang of sweet angels punching you in the heart\,” the Rainbow Girls prioritize community\, resilience\, and genuine audience connection. Born in Colorado and raised between the high mountain desert landscapes of the Rockies and the lush\, ancient mountains of Western North Carolina\, the sisters draw deep inspiration from the natural world and the communities that have shaped them. Their musical journey began in the womb into childhood with weekly ecstatic dance\, nightly improvised lullabies\, bedtime stories sung instead of read\, family dance nights and conscious summer music festivals. Their lives have been filled with backyard campfire jam sessions\, conversations that reach beyond cultural norms\, and impromptu performances in living rooms\, art galleries\, and community gatherings. Since the age of five\, Anna and Anzi have studied with Jeremy Dittus at the Dalcroze School of the Rockies\, cultivating a deep musical foundation that led them to piano\, guitar\, composition\, and performance. Their educational journey has included Waldorf education\, homeschooling\, forested Co-ops and inner city high schooling. This has allowed them to explore a wide range of artistic\, cultural\, and academic studies. ANZA has performed throughout Western North Carolina at venues including Ayuprana Listening Room\, LEAF Global\, White Horse Black Mountain\, Grey Eagle\, and Salvage Station. They have shared their music at festivals\, ceremonies\, retreats\, and around countless campfires and stages with artists such as Max Ribner\, Paul Izak\, Tubby Love\, Shylah Ray Sunshine and The Freedom Family Band. ANZA has sung alongside MaMuse\, Samara Jade\, Aimée Ringle\, and Micaela Kingslight during Circle Revival Gatherings\, an immersive six-hour musical ceremony attended by over 1\,100 participants. They have spent significant time recording in professional studios with Max Ribner and Roots Grown Deep and have received encouragement and praise from Grammy Award-winning songwriter Jim Lauderdale and acclaimed songwriter Marty Dodson. A UK radio station recently described their debut album\, Break Through\, as: “With a clear ’60s influence\, reminiscent of the style and storytelling associated with Joni Mitchell\, which is surprisingly rare in artists of this age. The harmonies are a real standout\, and the vocals have a warmth and confidence that genuinely evoke that era rather than simply imitate it. It feels timeless rather than retro for the sake of it.”

PHYLZZZ \nFormed in late 2015\, mr.phylzzz (pronounced mr. flyzzz) has spent the last decade mutating\, evolving\, and cementing their reputation as one of the most blistering\, uncompromising forces in modern noise rock. What began as a raw\, multi-instrumental project has sharpened into a lean\, mean\, two-piece wall of sound consisting of Clinton Jacob (guitar/vocals) and Danny Sein (drums). Now anchored in the gritty musical landscape of Chicago\, the duo crafts a chaotic\, high-velocity sonic assault that balances punishing\, heavy riffs with an undeniable knack for twisted\, melodic hooks. \nThe band’s rapid\, jagged trajectory quickly caught the ear of Tom Hazelmyer\, founder of the legendary underground imprint Amphetamine Reptile Records (AmRep). A badge of honor for any band pushing the boundaries of aggressive music\, mr.phylzzz made their label debut on the prestigious Dope Guns ’N Fucking in the Streets Vol. 14 compilation. They followed that up with their first proper full-length album\, Penitent Curtis\, in 2019—a record that laid the groundwork for their signature blend of cranked amps\, driving percussion\, and volatile vocal delivery. \nWhen the pandemic brought the world to a standstill\, the project underwent a metamorphosis. Operating in isolation\, Jacob continued to write at a feverish pace. As restrictions lifted\, a relocation to Chicago sparked a powerful new chemistry with the addition of drummer Danny Sein. The resulting synergy produced 2022’s Cancel Culture Club\, a critically acclaimed record that showcased a tighter\, more furious version of the band. The album drew well-deserved attention from noise rock royalty\, featuring guest appearances from the Melvins’ King Buzzo and Kevin Rutmanis. \nJD PINKUS \nJD Pinkus is an American bassist best known for his work with American punk band Butthole Surfers from1985 to 1994 and since the 2009 reunion. In 1990\, he and Butthole Surfers’ lead vocalist Gibby Haynes released Digital Dump\, the only album from their psychedelic house music side project The Jackofficers. Upon leaving Butthole Surfers\, Pinkus worked full-time with the Austin trio Daddy Longhead\, which he had assembled during his waning months in the band\, and which included longtime Atlanta associate Jimbo Young on guitar and Rey Washam on drums. Daddy Longhead retired after 10 years\, leaving Pinkus free to explore other projects including Skinny Leonard and Areola 51. Pinkus played with Helios Creed on his albums NUGG The Transport [1996] and Activated Condition [1998]\, and has also collaborated with Bad Livers frontman Danny Barnes several times in a live setting. JD Pinkus then co-founded the band Honky who went on to record five albums and are still currently active. Pinkus also performs with Pure Luck\,who released a self-titled release in 2017 on Heavy Feather Records. He leaves his bass to play Banjo and Guitar in this project. On their 30th anniversary tour in 2013\, Pinkus joined the Melvins in place of Jared Warren (on paternity leave) as well as performing with the opening Honky. He subsequently joined the Melvins full-time\, touring with them in 2014 in support of the album Hold It In\, which also featured Butthole Surfers founder Paul Leary\, and again in 2015.
