DESCRIPTION:STANDING ROOM ONLY \nNOAH RINKER\nIt’s place and perspective that drive 23-year-old musician Noah Rinker’s sound. It propels his lyricism and informs his entire point of view. Growing up in the mountains of California\, he found song wherever he could. He picked up the guitar at 14\, learning to play it like a lap steel because he assumed the fretboard might work the same way a keyboard did. At 16\, he wrote his first song. But it was “leaving for sessions with other collaborators that made me realize that home was the thing that made me who I was all along.”\nYou see that connection between song and soul in his videos: Noah\, a guitar\, and the place he grew up. Sometimes you’ll see the mountains sprawled out behind him as he plays; other times\, he’s cloaked in darkness\, only lit by a crackling campfire. There are covers mixed in with originals; snippets of works-in-progress tossed in\, paired with months-in-the-making singles he’s on the cusp of releasing. The music is real\, it’s raw\, and it’s Noah Rinker distilled and at his truest essence. Songs like “Save My Soul” and “Wherever I Go” and “99” introduce the world to a storyteller doing what he does best—digging deep\, baring his soul\, and laying it out on the page for just a few minutes of honest connection.

The band made seven studio albums before disbanding in 2005. After a ten-year break\, they reunited and toured in 2015\, and in 2017 released a new LP — A Sentimental Education and an EP of instrumentals — A Place of Greater Safety. \nOther recent reissues include a deluxe 2xLP version of their classic Penthouse album (on Rhino) and another 2xLP set Lunafied that collects all the covers the band recorded in the 1990s. \nNow scattered around the country (Los Angeles\, New York and Austin) the band retains the same lineup that operated from 1999 to 2005: Dean Wareham on vocals/guitar\, his wife Britta Phillips on bass\, Sean Eden on guitar\, and Lee Wall on drums. \nA Luna Timeline: \n1992. Dean Wareham recruits Justin Harwood (ex-Chills) on bass and Stanley Demeski (ex-Feelies) on drums to record Lunapark for Elektra Records. After completing the album\, the band places an ad in the Village Voice and thus adds Sean Eden on guitar. Eden\, who is Canadian by birth and a trained actor\, plays lead guitar on the excellent Indian Summer EP (aka the Slide EP). \n1993. The band records their second album\, Bewitched\, featuring “California\,” “Tiger Lily” and “Friendly Advice.” \n1995 Luna’s classic third album\, Penthouse (1995) is recorded in New York City\, featuring guests Tom Verlaine (Television) and Laetitia Sadier (Stereolab). The band signs to Beggar’s Banquet in Europe. Rolling Stone calls it “one of the essential recordings of the ‘90s” \n1997 Lee Wall replaces the travel-weary Stanley Demeski on drums\, and the band records Pup Tent\, their fourth album for Elektra. \n1998 Luna recorded their fifth album The Days of Our Nights. \n1999 Justin Harwood moves back to his home country (New Zealand)\, and is replaced on bass by Britta Phillips. \n2000 finding themselves between contracts\, the band quickly records a live album — Luna Live! for the Arena Rock label. \n2002 the band sign to Jetset Records\, record Romantica\, co-produced by Gene Holder (DB’s) and Dave Fridmann (Mercury Rev). Romantica was followed by the mini-LP Close Cover Before Striking. \n2004 Luna record their Rendezvous album in Brooklyn\, NY. Produced by Bryce Goggin with minimal overdubs\, it captures the band more-or-less live. \n2005 After a farewell tour\, on February 28 the band play their last show at New York’s Bowery Ballroom. \n2015 After ten years away\, the band announces a commemorative world tour. The lineup is the exact ’99-’05 group: Dean Wareham and Sean Eden on guitar\, Lee Wall on drums\, and Britta Phillips (now married to Mr Wareham) on bass. \nSISTER RAY DAVIES \nSister Ray Davies is a brilliantly named new duo formed by Adam Morrow and Jamie Sego. They might be based in Muscle Shoals\, Alabama\, but their acclaimed debut album Holy Island (released in November 2025 via Sonic Cathedral and Well Kept Secret) is a concept record about the ancient religious outpost off the coast of northeast England.

They’re words of advice\, comfort\, support\, encouragement\, often meant to uplift\, especially in times of struggle. \n“I like for people to be touched by music and get something from it\, something that they can take with them throughout the day\,” Thorn says. “Every song on this album\, there’s a message in it of some sort about how to live life.” \nAmerican Blues Scene writer Don Wilcock calls Thorn “an everyman (who) addresses things we all think about\, but few can articulate with the kind of candor\, humor and folksy truth that immediately endear him to almost everyone lucky enough to hear his music.” \nWhether he’s expressing love in “I Knew\,” warning an ex’s new conquest about the dangers ahead in “She Will\,” extolling the value of holding off on sex in “Wait” or listing the ingredients for making a marriage work in “Courage My Love” (“a half-acre on your daddy’s land / and a little luck / a load of white gravel in our driveway / so we don’t get stuck in a rut /a 3-horsepower lawnmower and courage my love”)\, Thorn delivers his messages with consummate skill — and pinpoint precision. One minute\, he’ll unwind an outrageous tale full of wild characters (often accompanied by his own cartoonish illustrations); the next\, he’ll tug at heartstrings with confessions of love\, loss or failed dreams\, balancing wit and pathos with an ease only the best storytellers can pull off. One of Thorn’s favorites was his friend and mentor John Prine\, who inspired the title tune.

It’s what keeps the best bands afloat — song after song\, show after show\, record after record. \nMike Harmeier was still in his early 20s when he formed Mike and the Moonpies. From the start\, they were the definition of a workingman’s country band\, cutting their teeth with five-hour sets on Austin’s dancehall circuit before spreading their music to the rest of America. By the early 2020s\, they’d become global ambassadors of homegrown Texas music\, flying their flag everywhere from Abbey Road Studios (where they recorded 2019’s Cheap Silver & Solid Country Gold with help from the London Symphony Orchestra) to the Grand Ole Opry. \nThe growth was remarkable\, but all that momentum left Harmeier and his four bandmates — drummer Taylor Englert\, guitarist Catlin Rutherford\, bassist Omar Oyoque\, and steel guitarist Zachary Moulton — looking for something new. After all\, their music had decidedly changed. Why shouldn’t their name do the same? \nSilverada marks a new chapter in the band’s history. It’s not just the title of the boldest release of the group’s critically-acclaimed career; it’s also the name of the reinvigorated band itself. \n“Back in the day\, all we wanted to do was play the Broken Spoke\,” says Harmeier\, nodding to the hometown honky-tonk in Austin\, TX\, where Silverada began sowing the seeds for a sound that mixed timeless twang with modern-day dynamics. “We had different aspirations back then. We were still figuring out what kind of band we were gonna be\, and that took a lot of time and a lot of records. \nA lot of records\, indeed. Silverada marks the group’s ninth release\, and it balances the strengths they’ve accumulated along the way — sharp\, detailed songwriting that bounces between autobiographical sketches and character studies; gorgeous swells of pedal steel that drift through the songs like weather; a rhythm section capable of country shuffles\, hard-charging rock & roll tempos\, and everything in between — with a willingness to break old rules and open new doors. “Radio Wave” is a roots-rock anthem for the highway and the heartland\, peppered with Springsteen-worthy hooks and War On Drugs-inspired atmospherics. “Eagle Rare” launches the band into outer space during its explosive middle section\, which the band improvised in the recording studio. “Stay By My Side” showcases Silverada’s road-warrior credentials — the band recorded the track live during a tour across the American Southeast\, capturing it in a single take at Capricorn Sound Studios in Macon\, Georgia — while “Wallflower” blends the organic with the otherworldly\, finding room for harmonized guitar solos\, driving disco beats\, and 808 percussion. \n“Going into the studio\, everybody in the band felt inspired to do something bigger than what they’d done before\,” Harmeier explains. “We all knew we were at a precipice\, and we wanted to jump. I brought in some songs that were metaphorical and not always straightforward\, and that showed the guys that I wanted to take this music somewhere new… so they threw their own rulebooks out the window\, too.”

Though he’s called many places home\, he remains deeply connected to the mountains that raised him. That search for meaning\, belonging\, something just beyond the next bend\, is entangled in his lyrics. \nBluegrass and Appalachian traditions anchor the sonic foundation of his music\, paired with authentic lyrics that cut deep. Nate references artists like Pete Seeger\, Jason Isbell\, and The Lumineers\, as he aspires to write songs that feel both timeless and personal. \nNate released his debut EP Burn My Heart in December 2025\, with singles “Who You Were” and the title track emerging as fan favorites. He followed the release with “7 Year Rust\,” and his new songs “Burning Cold” and “Carolina girls” in May of this year. Onstage\, he’s steadily growing a community through honest personal performances across the East Coast.

He has become known for raw emotion and a profound connection to his audience\, which for his solo years took on the name of “The Bonnevilles”. 2024 saw Josiah and the Bonnevilles reaching new heights\, completing a headlining tour of thirty-three sold-out dates followed by a slew of international stops that proved his global following. After taking 2025 away from the public eye to work on new music\, 2026 brought the 4th JATB album “As Is’ and the accompaniment of a stellar cast of musicians both in studio and and stage.\nLeming comes by his empathy for working people honestly. He’s one of nine siblings\, born and raised in Morristown\, Tennessee\, right in the heart of Appalachia. His father was a factory worker. He taught himself piano when he was eight and was writing songs by thirteen. Lead singer Aubrey Young’s lyrics combine heartfelt sincerity with self reflective humor\, while lead guitarist Andy Burns overlays incendiary riffs and solos. Bass player Steve Streit and drummer Joe Esposito provide a solid foundation for these rock n’ roll gems and serve the music like altar boys. \nKiller Skillet\nKiller Skillet is a Rock band based in Asheville\, NC. They started as a group of friends that liked to gather for cookouts and then decided to start playing music together. Their songs include some stuff that is a little bluesy\, some stuff that may sound a little jazzy\, some punk\, some Metal\, and even a Ska-punk/Cumbia song… kinda like when you throw everything you have in the fridge into the skillet to make a scramble.

DESCRIPTION:STANDING ROOM ONLY \nCARSIE BLANTON\nCarsie Blanton is a songwriter with hooks\, chutzpah\, and revolutionary optimism. A radical folk artist in the tradition of Woody Guthrie\, her infectious melodies and lyrical wit keep listeners rapt while she conjures spirits of vaudeville\, campfire singalongs\, and punk rock. Blanton and her road-tested band deploy humor\, camaraderie\, and considerable musical muscle to enroll each audience in a rare vision of hope and solidarity. \nIn addition to writing and performing music\, Carsie works as a political organizer and activist. In fall of 2025\, she participated in the Global Sumud Flotilla\, a direct action to bring humanitarian aid to Gaza by sailboat. In early October\, after a month at sea\, she was imprisoned in Israel for five days along with hundreds of her comrades. \nSoon after\, Blanton released The Little Flame\, a song of solidarity covered widely on social media during her detention. The Little Flame features background vocals from Irish band Ye Vagabonds and Carsie’s Palestinian/New Zealander prison-mate Rana Hamida\, and appears on her latest album\, The Red Album Vol II. \nAfter two decades spent on the road\, Blanton has amassed a dedicated fan base and a small menagerie of viral hits\, and regularly sells out mid-size venues across the U.S. and Europe. 2026 will find her touring heavily with her own band and in collaboration with Canadian folk-punk rabblerousers The Burning Hell\, as well as continuing her organizing work with Artists Against Apartheid\, Party for Socialism and Liberation and others.
