DESCRIPTION:– LIMITED PATIO SEATING IS FIRST COME FIRST SERVE\nREED TUCHI\nRoad Ends in Water Album Release Show \nReed Turchi is a Grammy Winning musician\, poet\, and producer from Swannanoa\, North Carolina\, now living in Brooklyn. \nHailed as “Beyond genre constraints” by The Oxford American\, and described as “a blast of blues rock…both crafted and improvised” by Rolling Stone\, Turchi has performed his slide guitar & kudzu boogie sound across the US and Europe since 2010. \nFeatured by NPR\, PBS\, Rolling Stone\, American Songwriter\, No Depression\, KEXP\, Living Blues\, The Oxford American\, Daytrotter\, and many more\, Turchi has established himself as one of the most varied and prolific artists and producers operating in the roots-music world today. \nRecorded in a basement in 2010\, Road Ends in Water was the first album by Reed Turchi\, and showcases his signature slide-guitar and kudzu-boogie in its rawest\, most North Mississippi-inspired form. With special guest Luther Dickinson of North Mississippi Allstars playing through a blown-up tape-machine on three songs\, the album ranges from uptempo rollicking blues-rock to heavy\, fuzzed-out riffs. The inspiration of no-holds-barred dueling-slide-guitar\, one-chord romp is clear\, as Road Ends in Water offers up a series of originals and adaptations that all end up in a swamp of romp-and-groove. Originally released in 2012 in a pre-streaming world\, the album has been lost for over a decade\, and has been totally re-mixed and re-mastered for this new release\, which showcases a basement boogie in its early glory.

Affectionately known as Papa\, he was the kind of person others naturally gravitate towards. It was a photograph from one of his trips to Asia that inspired the Eugene\, OR duo’s new album Papa’s Boat. In the image Papa is looking out across the horizon and stood next to his boat Sŵn y Môr (Welsh for “Sound of the Sea.”)\n“I think so much of what Alden and I are doing comes from just watching him live his own unique life\,” says Dana. Alden agrees. “His emboldened\, passionate personality gave us permission to be our own selves\, to be unconventional and draw outside of the box.”\nRecorded with Malcolm Catto in London in March 2025\, Papa’s Boat combines all their childhood love and global experience to create an ecstatic sound built on Dana’s saxophone and Alden’s drums. Recorded with the duo’s backing band\, Ebba Dankel (vocals and keys)\, Andrew Mitchell (bass)\, Eli Torgersen (vocals and guitar) and Salim Charvet (sax and synths)\, Papa’s Boat is rooted in jazz but pulling influence from indie\, pop\, rap\, bossa nova\, and beyond. A hypnotic combination of sax and buzzing synths on “Lighthouse” sets the tone for an album that uses water as both a reflective surface and a body to get lost in. Elsewhere there are collaborations with Mei Semones\, Melanie Charles\, and legendary Brazilian songwriter Marcos Valle\, a hero figure to the band who appears on “El Gaucho” and “Friendship Is A Boat.” \nThroughout its runtime Papa’s Boat sails purposefully between memories of the past and visions of a brighter future. It doesn’t just commemorate their Papa as a beloved character\, but shares him with the world.

Tasjan\, despite writing and recording some of the most astute Americana rock songs of the last decade and being nominated for a Grammy\, just didn’t see a future for an independent singer\, songwriter\, and guitarist like himself. \nSnider read Tasjan’s email and immediately replied: “I think I have some ideas. I’ll write you back tomorrow.” \nThe next morning\, Tasjan awoke to a signature Todd Snider missive for how to move forward as an artist. It was a novel-length email that read like the battle plans for the Invasion of Normandy. Do this\, Snider wrote. Then this. But never that. The specifics don’t matter — besides\, that’d be giving away the secret — but Tasjan devoured his mentor’s words and took them to heart. \nHe began writing feverishly\, unbothered by expectations and immune to any pressure to match his acclaimed albums like In the Blazes\, Karma for Cheap\, or his most recent\, 2024’s Stellar Evolution. When he was through\, Tasjan had Get Over It\, Underdog\, his most inspiring LP to date. Produced by Tasjan and his longtime sound engineer Mark Miller\, the album is a celebration of the power of songwriting\, the unbreakable bond of friendship\, and the determination of the dark horse. \n“I went to the ultimate oasis for a singer\, songwriter\, and troubadour: Todd Snider. And he said\, in very Todd fashion\, ‘You can find your path forward by going backwards\,’” Tasjan says with a laugh. “But he was right. I set aside my ego\, played shows solo without my band\, and wrote a lot of songs. In that process\, I found my confidence again.” \nTragically\, however\, he lost his mentor. Snider died shortly after Get Over It\, Underdog\, was finished\, leaving a void in the folk-rock scene that will prove nearly impossible to fill. But Tasjan is committed to carrying on Snider’s unbridled spirit and lifting up underdogs everywhere. \nMADELEINE KELSON \nMadeleine Kelson is a Nashville based Americana artist. She pulls from a rich tradition of Folk\, Country\, and Americana\, challenging its boundaries as a queer artist to represent the modern world. Madeleine spent her high school years in Chicago band\, The Kelson Twins\, playing venues including House of Blues and Thalia Hall\, and landing a top Daytrotter Session with Paste Magazine. She later moved to Music City to pursue a solo career. Inspired by artists like Patty Griffin\, Jason Isbell\, andBrandi Carlile\, her dynamic and down-to-earth storytelling and rich vocals are part of why NPR named her one 10 Nashville artists on the rise.

DOGGOD explores broader swaths of sonic terrain\, employs a greater arsenal of tones\, and probes larger existential and cosmic themes\, all while retaining the band’s signature sense of the forbidden\, the forsaken\, and the foreboding.\nDOGGOD is a way of tackling the universal riddle tangled in the spiritual nature of love and devotion. “I feel like I’m some sort of servant or slave to love\,” says Sanchez. “There’s a willingness to die for love in the process of serving it or suffering for it or in search of it… just in the way a loyal\, devoted servant dog would.” The album title is a palindrome fusing together DOG and GOD—an exaltation of the submissive and a subversion of the divine. It’s a nod to the purity of dogs and an acknowledgement of their unconditional love and protective nature that’s at odds with the various pejoratives associated with the species. “There is this symbolic connection between women and dogs that expresses women’s subordinate position in society\,” Sanchez explains. “And anything that embodies such divine characteristics never deserved to be a word used as an insult.” \nThese conflicted explorations of love and subservience manifest themselves in L.A. Witch’s fusion of their trademark smooth and smoky garage alchemy with a newfound utilization of post-punk’s disciplined reserve and icy instrumentation. Album opener “Icicle” captures the band journeying out of the proto-punk\, psychedelia\, and gritty riffage of the ‘70s into the chorus-drenched guitars and forlorn minimalism of Joy Division and early The Cure. A parallel is drawn between romantic suicide and martyrdom that carries over into the second song\, “Kiss Me Deep.” Here Sanchez describes a love so pure that it transcends time and carries over into multiple lifetimes. It’s a song about passion delivered in the worldly and wounded stoicism of early goth pioneers. From there\, the band segues into the lead single “777\,” a song about devotion to the point of death. A propulsive beat\, a driving distorted riff\, and Sanchez’s ethereal vocals come together to create a song that’s both dire in its fatalism and sensual in its faithful passion.

DESCRIPTION:STANDING ROOM ONLY\nSOUTHERN CULTURE ON THE SKIDS \nSouthern Culture On The Skids has been consistently recording and touring around the world since 1983. The band (Rick Miller – guitar and vocals\, Mary Huff – bass and vocals\, Dave Hartman – drums) has been playing together for over 30 years. Their musical journey has taken them from all-night North Carolina house parties to late night TV talk shows (Conan O’Brien\, The Tonight Show)\, from performing at the base of Mt. Fuji in Japan to rockin’ out for the inmates at North Carolina correctional facilities. They’ve shared a stage with many musical luminaries including Link Wray\, Loretta Lynn\, Hasil Adkins and Patti Smith. Their music has been featured in movies and TV\, parodied by Weird Al\, and used to sell everything from diamonds to pork sausage. In 2014 the band was honored by the Southern Folklife Collection at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill with an exhibition featuring their music and cultural contributions. Their legendary live shows are a testament to the therapeutic powers of foot-stomping\, butt-shaking rock and roll and what Rolling Stone dubbed “a hell raising rock and roll party.” \nAt Home with Southern Culture on the Skids is the latest full length album from the band and was released in March of 2021. It was recorded during the stay at home period of the pandemic when the band was at home and not touring. The album consists of 11 tracks recorded and mixed in Rick Miller’s living room with some additional tracks recorded at his studio\, The Kudzu Ranch. \nThe first radio single off the album is “Run Baby Run”—a rocking number with deep garage roots. SCOTS bassist Mary Huff provides an urgent vocal while the band pulls back the throttle on a full race fuzz fest—cause she’s gotta to go fast! Run Baby Run! \nThe other songs on the album are a combination of the band’s unique mix of musical genres: rock and roll\, surf\, folk and country—all a bit off-center\, what Rick proudly calls “our wobbly Americana”. Rick goes on\, “We put a few more acoustic guitars on this one\, as you would expect if you recorded in your living room\, but it still rocks like SCOTS. So put your headphones on\, get in your favorite chair/sofa/recliner\, put on “At Home With” and let’s hang out for a while.”

By the time of A Dream Is All We Know and the future Michael classic “My Golden Years”\, The Lemon Twigs’ new era had truly begun. And now comes the third Lemon Twigs album for Captured Tracks\, Look For Your Mind!\, which underneath its poppy exterior contains an undercurrent of paranoia and suspicion. \nOpening with title track “Look For Your Mind”\, a jangly Michael number\, the listener is introduced to the guitar-driven harmony sound that is the centering theme of the album. Much of what was achieved on A Dream Is All We Know is here\, just more laser focused. It’s classic Twigs\, indebted to the golden age of guitar pop\, but in no way slavish. \nNew to this album is the inclusion of live Twigs Reza Matin (drums) and Danny Ayala (bass)\, as well as Eva Chambers of Tchotchke\, to the rhythm section. With the brothers previously having handled everything in the studio themselves\, this shows a newfound sense of freedom. “Gather Round” is one of Look For Your Mind!’s bigger productions. A Brian song with joyous orchestrations\, it feels like a turn of the century campaign song. The writer is looking for an uncorrupted leader\, but resolves that collective action is the only way forward. Musically it’s ornate and delightfully 1967\, but the mood and sentiment is distinctly 2026. “Every time we try to write something that’s completely straightforward\, we can’t help adding an element which comes out of left field.” explains Brian. \nBrian’s “Fire And Gold” starts off with a ringing power pop riff before turning everything inside out. It’s also the first song on the album to feature the powerhouse drummer Reza Matin\, whom the brothers favorably compare to Big Star’s Jody Stephens\, The Raspberries’ Jim Bonfanti\, and The Move’s Bev Bevan. Closing side one on the vinyl record is Michael’s beautiful ballad\, “Mean To Me”\, with vocals The Beach Boys would be happy to have committed to wax 60 years ago\, care of Michael\, Brian and Danny. The closer of the second side\, “Your True Enemy”\, completely throws a spanner in the works. “We at first approached the song as a simple rock arrangement\, but it didn’t fit the moodiness of the lyric\,” states Brian. “So that’s when we started to get more experimental.” \nThe Lemon Twigs sixth studio album may at first seem like a direct continuation of the previous two\, but it is also a lot more\, with nods to the earlier records\, a new found collective spirit\, and most importantly great songwriting.

The band then took to the road\, playing upwards of 170 shows a year and sharing stages with such superstars as Dwight Yoakam\, Charlie Daniels\, Railroad Earth\, Marty Stuart\, Allison Krauss\, Leon Russell\, Jim Lauderdale\, Leftover Salmon\, Amos Lee\, The Lumineers and many more. They’ve driven nonstop\, made countless radio station appearances\, driven broken-down RVs and watched as their van caught fire. They’ve paid their dues and then some\, looking forward even as they were forced to glance behind. \nIt’s proof positive that the Brooklyn and Raleigh based band have made their mark\, and in dealing with their emotions\, scars and circumstances\, they find themselves in a position to share those experiences with others who have juggled similar sentiments.
