As veterans of the acoustic music scene\, they are combining a deep love of traditional string band music with a refreshing catalog of original songs\, dazzling fans with a certain je ne sais quoi that is both genuine and relatable. Formed in the summer of 2025\, long time friends Jack\, Jesse\, and Nick found themselves once again living in the same town and ready to start a new musical project. These three had spent years touring across the world\, often but not always in the same group. With a shared love of music\, humor\, and brotherhood\, The Nature Boys was born in a way that can only be described as natural. Soon after getting the wheels rolling\, they enlisted Asheville aces Coop and Korey\, now forming one of Asheville’s premier 5-piece bluegrass bands\, The Nature Boys. The band is currently performing regionally and is recording their debut album\, to be released in late 2026.

Fuelled by the confidence from these early experiences\, Brendan decided to take the leap and commit to music full-time\, his first self-written tracks making their public debuts at a range of local all-ages gigs — and the rest was history. \nDistilling influences from The Beatles to Blink-182 via a deep detour in blues country courtesy of B.B. King and John Mayer\, Brendan quickly became known for his nostalgic\, positive\, soul-rockin’ blend of\, well\, rock and soul — although as an innovator at heart\, nods to more contemporary inspirations like Jon Batiste and Taylor Swift can also be found somewhere in the mix\, keeping things fresh. \nHaving released a number of singles and an EP\, performed in seven countries across three continents to date\, and refined his reputation as an electric live performer both solo and with his band\, The Sugar Packets\, Brendan’s momentum is at an all-time high as he prepares for his biggest year yet. Plans for monthly single releases and a slew of live performances throughout 2024 are already in the works\, which will culminate in the release of a full-length album at the end of the year — much to the delight of his diverse and growing fanbase.

For over ten years\, he fronted the band Smooth Hound Smith who headlined tours in the US\, Europe\, and the UK and supported artists like The Chicks\, Collective Soul\, Trombone Shorty\, Jamestown Revival\, and many more. Following the release of their third album in 2019 and a month-long European tour in February 2020\, the band’s eventual hiatus caused Smith to refocus towards other artistic pursuits. “I started seeking out music again like I did when I was younger. I realized that I had been so focused on Smooth Hound Smith and had been trying to push the band forward\, that I stopped listening to music just for enjoyment. Because of the pandemic\, I had time\, so I dug a massive hole in my backyard\, leveled it off\, and laid a patio of over 1\,200 bricks\, all by hand. It took me about a month. I would just be out there all day in the sun listening to North African desert blues\, EDM\, ‘90s hip hop\, or bizarre\, outsider folk music. A lot of that stuff really informed the music I ended up creating months later.”\nMadison Hughes makes music that lives in the in-between — the space between falling apart and finding your footing. Her sound pulls from the women who defined late ’90s Americana — Sheryl Crow\, Norah Jones\, Mazzy Star — and roots it in something country-blues and lived-in. Warm\, honest\, and a little worn around the edges. Like someone you trust quickly\, even if you just met.

DESCRIPTION:PATTERSON HOOD Drive-By Truckers co-founder Patterson Hood’s fourth solo album and first in over 12 years\, Exploding Trees & Airplane Screams sees the veteran singer\, guitarist\, and songwriter exploring his youth and young manhood in a collection unlike anything in his ever-evolving catalogue. A baroque American song cycle spanning the time between early childhood and leaving his rural hometown in search of his musical dreams\, the album gathers songs that have amassed over the remarkably prolific songwriter’s career\, many of which provided him with distraction and creative sustenance during lockdown\, others which have resided among his notebooks for years. “This record has all these kinds of unintended themes\,” Hood says. “It’s all subconscious\, because I didn’t really set out with an agenda\, writing-wise. It really just kind of occurred to me when I was actually putting it all together\, just how much it seems to have a theme to it.” The dozen years since his last extracurricular outing\, 2012’s Heat Lightning Rumbles in the Distance\, had seen Hood accumulate a cache of material which did not quite fit into the Drive-By Truckers canon\, songs which he set aside for “if and when” he got around to another solo project. Kept off the road during the 2020 lockdown\, he found himself recording demos in his Portland\, OR attic\, without a clear plan but thinking “maybe this might be worth pursuing at some point.” Hood had moved to Portland with his family in 2013 and swiftly found a place among the Rose City’s thriving music scene\, including a friendship forged with producer/musician Chris Funk (The Decemberists). Having long discussed collaborating\, in 2023 the two artists’ typically stacked calendars finally allowed them the opportunity to team up and they set to work recording what Hood intended to be “a bigger departure” from Drive-By Truckers and his previous solo efforts than ever before. “The band has been in such a good place that I hadn’t really thought in terms of doing anything outside of the Truckers anytime soon\,” Hood says. “I decided if I ever was going to do another solo record\, I wanted it to be pretty different than the band\, as different as it can be.” Hood further took the occasion to explore sounds outside the boundaries and obligations of his day job\, deviating from Drive-By Truckers’ traditionally guitar-driven palette to craft richly textured arrangements marked by the inclusion of strings\, woodwinds\, and vintage analog synthesizers. With its powerful textural clarity and Hood’s literary strengths at the fore\, Exploding Trees & Airplane Screams emerges as a staggering investigation into how time can shed light on the recesses of memory\, revealing this exceptionally gifted songwriter’s resolute inclination to look back through the golden haze to grapple with the darkness and secret truths that perhaps weren’t understood or reckoned with at the time. As he has throughout his career – from Drive-By Truckers’ ceaseless investigation into American values and culture to his solo body of work’s autobiographical meditations – Exploding Trees and Airplane Screams sees Patterson Hood once again stripping away the facade of things to get to the core\, lifting up life’s rock to see what lies underneath.

As a young player\, he spent time with legendary Carolina musicians Guitar Gabriel and Cootie Stark\, learning not only guitar technique but also the storytelling and spirit behind traditional American music. In the 1990s\, Reid immersed himself in the life of a working musician\, busking on the streets of New Orleans before returning to North Carolina’s music scene. He later helped form the roots band The Blue Rags\, known for energetic performances and traditional sounds. Reid gained international recognition when he won the International Blues Challenge in Memphis—becoming the first solo performer to win the competition. Today\, Abe Reid continues to perform\, teach\, and share the music of the American South\, passing on knowledge learned from older musicians and decades on the road.

But\, for me to preach that? I have to practice it.” \nThat attitude resides at the core of the record\, where the trajectory of the songs seemingly — more so purposely — shoot off in the opposite direction of many of his contemporaries in the Americana\, country and folk music scenes. In truth? Chaney is summoning his rock roots. \n“I’m not concerned with being labeled as ‘country’.“There’s not a lot of music being released right now that is doing anything for me. While talking at-length about the possible collaboration\, Lundy spoke of his love for Soundgarden\, Alice in Chains and Stone Temple Pilots. \n“I know plenty of bluegrass guys that could have recorded this for me\,” Chaney says. “But\, I wanted to take that string band and folk sound and bring it to a rock producer\, to bring that big sound out of these acoustic instruments — [Duane] was about to do that.” \nThe album was also co-produced by guitarist Zachary Hamilton\, a close friend of Chaney\, who is also the brother and bandmate of rising Lexington singer-songwriter Abby Hamilton. \n“[Zach] has that ability to fill a room with his guitar\, his voicings\, and all the choices he goes for down the neck of the guitar\,” Chaney says. “When Abby was opening for us\, I got to sit there and watch him play every night. I knew when I was going to do another album\, he needed to be involved in some capacity.” \nHeading into the recording sessions\, Chaney brought along his band\, which included Ella Webster (fiddle)\, Kyle Kleinman (mandolin)\, Joel Murtaugh (upright bass) and James Gooding (drums). Acclaimed Kentucky musician (and former bandmate) Aaron Bibelhauser also makes an appearance. \nWith this pivot in his tone and intent compared to his 2021 debut album\, Mercy\, Chaney sees this current path as more in-tune with what he’s not only wanted to do all along\, but has slowly shifted towards in recent years amid endless touring and performing.

For a young musician who would later become one of the biggest names in modern-day bluegrass\, those early experiences were life changing. \n“Watching live music always spoke to me much louder than sitting in front of my record player\,” he remembers. “I loved it. Wherever music was being played\, I wanted to go watch. Years later\, I still feel that way.” \nThroughout his 30+ year career\, Tyminski has left his mark in every corner of modern music. His voice famously accompanies George Clooney’s performance of the Stanley Brothers’ classic song\, “I Am A Man of Constant Sorrow\,” in the film\, Oh Brother\, Where Art Thou? and his vocal collaboration with Swedish DJ Avicii on the song “Hey Brother” was a global smash\, having been streamed more than a billion times to date. His diverse solo projects and years of work with Alison Krauss and Union Station have yielded troves of award-winning music. \nIn recent years\, Tyminski’s live shows with the Dan Tyminski Band have become bluegrass fan favorites and are regularly on the must-see lists among music fans of any genre. \nWith his newest album release – the Grammy-nominated 2024 concert album Dan Tyminski: Live From The Ryman – he captures the magic of those live shows\, while also proving that he still has the same passion for live music as he did when he was growing up. \nHis earliest touring and recording work was as a part of the band\, Green Mountain Bluegrass. He later joined the influential bluegrass group\, Lonesome River Band\, before embarking on his three decades of work with Alison Krauss and Union Station. \nThe first album that Tyminski recorded as a solo artist was the soul-stirring Carry Me Across the Mountain (2000)\, followed by the Grammy-nominated Wheels (2008) which was named the 2009 Album of the Year by the International Bluegrass Music Association. His work with the EDM artist\, Avicii\, inspired Dan to create the genre-defying Southern Gothic album\, released in 2017 to much critical acclaim. Tyminski would then showcase again his heart for bluegrass with the 2022 EP tribute to Tony Rice\, One More Time Before You Go\, which included guest performances by Molly Tuttle\, Sam Bush\, Dailey & Vincent\, and Billy Strings. \nDan has been honored with 14 Grammy Awards and is a four-time Male Vocalist of the Year honoree by the International Bluegrass Music Association. He has also recorded instrumental or vocal harmony contributions for projects by Martina McBride\, Reba McEntire\, Brad Paisley\, Dolly Parton\, Willie Nelson\, Joan Osborne\, Charlie Daniels\, Kenny Chesney\, LeAnn Rimes\, Rob Thomas\, and Charlie Haden\, to name a few. Tyminski certainly represents the pinnacle of modern bluegrass music. \nWhile Dan enjoys a good conversation and a good cigar\, he can often be found participating in charitable Pro-Am golf tournaments\, as well as competing regularly in the Foosball tournament circuit.

DESCRIPTION:– FREE SHOW\n– ALL AGES\n– LIMITED PATIO SEATING IS FIRST COME FIRST SERVE\n– DONATIONS FOR THE ARTISTS ENCOURAGED! \nMESCHIYA LAKE\nLooking back\, it’s no surprise that when a precocious nine year-old Meschiya Lake hit the stage for a singing contest at a Rapid City\, South Dakota steakhouse\, she already believed that she could hold her own with the best of them. She had been singing around the house\, and competing against adults who thought she was “cute” didn’t intimidate her. When she won the contest – which came with $500 prize and a weekly in-house singing gig – it made sense that – in some form or another – the groundwork for a career had been laid\, even if she didn’t realise it at the time. For several more years singing for fun and joy continued to trump music as vocation for Lake\, but it was only in her early twenties during her stint as a member of the Know Nothing Family Zirkus Zideshow and End of the World Circus – a ragtag traveling troupe that blended traditional circus arts with modern sideshow entertainment – that she ultimately realised exactly what she wanted to do as an adult. Now steadfastly at the helm of her own musical battleship\, things moved fast and far for Ms. Lake. The year 2010 saw their debut album\, Lucky Devil\, and the beginning of a decade’s worth of accolades\, tours\, and awards. From the stages of Lincoln Center in NYC\, to Brazil\, Canada\, Denmark\, The Netherlands\, Italy\, Russia\, the U.K.\, and Ireland\, she’s shown people to express love of life through music and dance. This passion\, seemingly tireless energy\, and expert skill has garnered much praise\, from NPR’s top ten albums of 2010\, to First Lady of Jazz 2013\, at the Sun Valley Jazz Festival. But most importantly\, back at home in New Orleans\, Lake was recognised as Female Performer of the Year\, three years running\, at the Big Easy Awards\, was named Best Female Singer in Offbeat Magazine’s Best of the Beat poll in 2013 and 2014\, and in 2013 the Little Big Horns were honored with the Best of The Beat’s coveted Best Trad Band award. Along the way\, Meschiya’s found the time to record\, write\, and produce another two albums with the Big Horns\, Foolers’ Gold\, and Bad Kid’s Club\, as well as work in the studio as a vocalist with musicians like Alec Ounsworth of Clap Your Hands Say Yeah\, as well as singing for a gentleman by the name of Tom Waits. Her 2019 collaboration with Soren Siegumfeldt\, This is Meschiya Lake\, won the Danish Music Awards category of Best Vocal Jazz\, otherwise known as the “Danish Grammy.” Meschiya Lake has come a long way since her South Dakota Opry and traveling circus days\, and she’s not done yet. In fact\, far from it. With upcoming plans for an all original solo album\, and more great music from the Little Big Horns\, as well as other projects\, far and wide\, friends and fans are sure to be continually inspired and delighted.
