Susie Tarantino<\/p><\/div>\n

When Susie Tarantino moved to Asheville from Boston in 2000, she got a job as hostess at Southside Caf\u00e9. It didn\u2019t take long before she\u2019d become close with many of the patrons and began helping out where needed.<\/p>\n

\u201cI started driving people to doctors\u2019 appointments,\u201d says Susie. Two doctors suggested to her that she start a company. Susie, who had been a housewife for 25 years, asked her son what he thought of the idea. \u201cMom, if you\u2019re not living on the edge,\u201d he replied, \u201cyou\u2019re taking up too much space.\u201d<\/p>\n

Susie launched T.L.C. For You, Inc. in 2001 as a full-service home health and companion care company for clients in Western North Carolina.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe want to keep people at home,\u201d she says. Trained medical professionals provide around-the-clock care or short-term assistance as needed. \u201cThis staff has been with me for a long time,\u201d adds Susie.<\/p>\n
