\"\"Members of Asheville band Lua Flora came together after graduating from Appalachian State University. The band\u2019s new single is titled \u201cNight Glow,\u201d and it explores the sensuality of an old-fashioned romance. \u201cThe lyrics of this one wouldn\u2019t work if I didn\u2019t mean it,\u201d says singer-songwriter Evan Button. \u201cThis song is about the emotion; if the emotion isn\u2019t there, the song isn\u2019t there.\u201d<\/p>\n

The bandmembers\u2019 various musical tastes\u2014roots reggae, bluegrass and funk\u2014all contribute to the band\u2019s sound. \u201cWe describe our sound as beach folk,\u201d Button says. \u201cA little bit of the beach and islands, and a little bit of the mountains and Appalachia.\u201d The new single, he adds, reflects \u201cthe folky mountain side of things.\u201d<\/p>\n

Lua Flora was just getting their sound together when the pandemic hit. \u201cWe really took that time to write and work on our set,\u201d says Button. \u201cNow that things are lifting, we are hitting the shows pretty hard and are very excited to get out there again.\u201d The band will be touring with Satsang in late September and early October.<\/p>\n
